The Pod was an egg shaped apparatus with a white painted coating that looked to be a ceramic white when shown to the naked human eye. The man looked down the aisle of the abandoned architecture- all that could be seen were these mysterious “Pods”, some kind of machinery that George wanted to inquire about.

He needed to find more about these things that sat in front him like sculptures of what might be very well be from an ancient civilization- he had gotten there by his small private U-boat. His curiosity of the machines would eventually catch up to him now, in a manner that terrified him, by his intrinsic fear and general self-loathing. 

He gave the Pods some more observation: he saw what seemed was a control module. At about half of the module were multiple knobs and dials; at the top of the module was a screen that remained dark; and at the bottom of the module were many of these fairly thick industrial grade electrical tubes that he saw were connected into the adjacent Pod. 

He left himself speechless within the aisle of this building in the middle of the sea: through his sheer curiosity, he found the evident ON button, and pressed it; and by doing so, the screen on the module turned on. At a few moments, he would step in and seat himself into the Pod, sending him into a virtual world; gases and fumes came pouring in, through and out of the pod as the shell doors closed together.
