He wants to meet my parents – I'm excited but also super nervous. Any tips?

My boyfriend of eight months wants to have dinner with my mom and dad next week. They're lovely but very reserved. I'm scared it'll be awkward. How do I make everyone feel comfortable?

This is a good nervous – it means you care. Keep it simple: choose a neutral place like a quiet restaurant, not your home kitchen pressure cooker. Beforehand, tell your parents one thing he's great at (fixing things, cooking, whatever) and tell him one thing they love (gardening, travel, a pet). That gives everyone an easy topic. Also, remind yourself that awkward pauses are normal – they don't mean failure. For more low-pressure meeting strategies, check https://wisedate.org/blog/. And breathe – they just want to see you happy.
