Usha Dhar is a mother, community builder, and gardener who is working towards self-sustainability on her acreage in rural Canada. She and her family live in a log house surrounded by a variety of hairy, winged, and scaled creatures who may or may not be sea monsters and dragons in disguise. She begins every day with unsweetened chilli-spiced cocoa (served hot or iced depending on the weather) and is known to become unpleasant without it. Becoming Medea is her first novel (though the next instalments of the Legends of Utra are on the way).
