Emilse Bruneau is my Pen name. Quiet, introverted girl child born and raised in Harlem, NYC, I grew to become an outgoing, creative person. I found my voice in writing and Fine Art at an early age (around 12) because Chronic and severe bouts of Asthma had me in the hospital and often depressed and lonely up until my early 30's. I only had my thoughts and imagination to fuel my will to live all of that time. Since then have discovered so many opportunities to share my talents. However, success still eludes me as I pursue it. I taught myself not to be afraid of expression in a world that will either suppress or celebrate it. I am of Puerto Rican and Black American descent with friends of multiple generations and all socio economic backgrounds. From them and the world around me I have lots of material to pool from as i write my books with diverse themes, characters and settings.
My current goal is to write 30 books in the next five years. Now 50 I hope to publish my first book. In addition to writing I am a Fine Art painter here in North Carolina.
