Prologue
"NOOO, get away from me you wicked terrible beast..!" the teenage girl shouted. "Someone help me please- no don't! Please don't!"
We wanted to help her but we were afraid and knew that if we tried to help we'd lose and become victims too. We stayed quiet and kept out of sight of the Argent Spiders. We could see the index spider fang emerge. The girl screamed out for help; she cried and pleaded for her life. a male Argent spider leaned close to her and opened his mouth and a wet n slimy spider web the size of a string bean appeared. A creepy embryo wiggled like a worm inside the stringy web.
"Open your mouth," he instructed in a dark and croaked tone of voice.
The Argent spider's eyes glowed bright like a wolf; the teenager struggled with all of her strength to escape the strong grip of the Argent Spider but he was too strong for her, and there was others surrounding the girl and there wasn't any hope of her escaping them. Suzie was her name, Suzie Reeves, and she screamed and screamed and screamed terror! The Argent spider's eyes could control her and in the next moment Suzie Reeves became still as if she'd become comatose. The male Argent Spider opened his mouth and the wet stringy spider web containing the ugly small, wiggling embryo was dropped down inside Suzie Reeves' body like a drop of rain falling from the tip of a wet leaf. The embryo settled inside the girl's belly and became still. A split second later the trance broke and Suzie Reeves regained consciousness. Suzie screamed horrible and the grip of the Argent spider's was released and Suzie Reeves ran off crying uncontrollably; she cried out for someone to help her. Suzie Reeves raced into town half-crazed and in shock; she was horrified. Suzie Reeves would never be the same again.
The Origin
The Argent spider came with the carnival and curious eyes stared unblinking at the sight of her- Ana Anansi- is the name the Hopi Indian called her. He'd discovered Ana and taken care of her and protected her from all harm, and in return for his hospitality and security to Ana Anansi, she worked at the carnival. The crowd of onlookers gawked in amazement at Ana; she had a face like a ageless beauty queen and the voice of a humming bird, boobs, arms, hands, like a human woman and Ana had a tiny waist. Ana Anansi moved her stomach perfect to music and a belly dancer would envy her. Below Ana belly were eight, creepy black widow spider legs, it was the horror of her. Ana Anansi voice was beautiful, it drawled the people inside the tent; they watched near hypnotized by her voice. Ana Anansi attracted huge crowds to her show each night of the week; the carnival stayed in BARON'S HOLLOWPOINT for two weeks. The residents of BARON'S HOLLOWPOINT called Ana she-crawler because of that dark and hideous part of her those black widow spider legs that made Ana Anansi so terrible, a curse, a big devil! Ana Anansi mother Catherine SHAH, an American Hopi Indian was the head of the Wiccan witch cult. Catherine sacrificed herself up to the CRABMAN of the red sea to gain the lead of witches and be granted full power. Catherine SHAH bore CRABMAN ten children and was found guilty and shunned by her father chief Graham SHAH and found murdered; she was beheaded and burned to death. Catherine SHAH hid her children, (halflings), inside the woods underneath the ground. The children of Catherine SHAH and CRABMAN remained underneath the ground in hibernation for a century and came up fifty years later.
They stayed deep inside the forest for ten years taking nutrients from a fruit tree and bushes and drank water from the river. Overtime they became wiser and learned that becoming one with humans would make their children part human- spider being inner beast. They mated with humans snatching them up at night after having found them drunken from partying late into the night. The children looked human and spider was within them. Years later the spider ancestors were killed off, and a new generation of spider came into being- the Argent spider. On the third week of the carnival a priest Father Karl Westley, and a dirt farmer Abraham Howell destroyed Ana Anansi. Abraham claimed that Ana was a devil's daughter and eventually she'd turn and consume everyone in BARON'S HOLLOWPOINT and the priest being godly agreed- he cried out to the congregation that Ana Anansi was spider, a very dangerous and deadly poisonous beast. Ana was beheaded with an ax and burned to death. Her head was buried inside shade crypts cemetery as a reminder of that night.
Chapter One
There are four things in life that matter: The Vampire, Religion, Love and DAMIENALLA- The Argent Spider.
I was taken in by my Aunt and Uncle on my mother's side of the family. I was surprised, because I never knew that Aunt Ruth and Uncle George existed; I was in complete ignorance. I was also surprised to find out that they had taken care of the funeral arrangements for my parent's and Father Karl Westley. I was in shock, and I walked around in a mummified state of mind, as if I were in a deep trance. I did not talk, eat, nor sleep, and if I dared to sleep, I slept light. I dreamed, and my dreams were nightmares about Ana Anansi and, the others, the Argent Spiders coming after me, and I ran in my dreams and screamed into the darkness. I'd awaken in cold sweat, scared half out of my mind. I went to the funeral home dreading viewing my parents' bodies lying there inside the coffin. Ana Anansi' daughter Lauryn Anansi, an Argent spider and leader over the other Argent spiders sought revenge and murdered my parents' and the Priest Father Karl Westley in a bloody war that ended in their death.
Inside the viewing room, I saw my parents and Father Karl Westley laid out in the shiny wooden Catholic coffins. Chills went through me, and I wanted to run, run far away, but I could not, and I just stood there gazing into both coffins, stupefied and wondering why? Aunt Ruth and Uncle George told me that the bodies were damaged badly, and special work had to be done before they could be viewed by anyone. The undertakers had done a nice job.
My parents and Father Westley looked so peaceful; it was as if they were just sleeping. Mother’s hands were so still and cold, and so were my father’s and Father Westley. Even their hair looked natural. The undertaker had done excellent work on them. They looked so real – not like some stiff mummies. Mother wore a soft, long, white evening gown and Father wore a beige suit. Father Westley wore his priest robe and the caravan cross. The death of my parents and Father Karl Westley would haunt me always… my life was changed forever.
