A Collection: Poetry
Introduction
For a good portion of my life, I have believed that any one person is able to create poetry. To me, poetry is necessary, but my skills do not show my imagination, nor my ability to create such works. Through these several poems, I am allowed to show a sample of the decent work that I have created. Although not the best, it came from the only place that matters: the imagination.
Waves: Don't Take Me Under
It comes in waves
But disappears
I close my eyes
And I can feel again
It comes in waves
And never leaves
I close my eyes
Will I drown again?
It is a drought of joy
A painful spring
A lake of fear
Where is the love again?
My heart is torn
And I am worn out
I close my eyes
Where is my home again?
Your heart was my shelter
But you broke away
I close my eyes
And I am lost again.
The Pattern of Fate
Far beyond the turning lakes and silent meadows,
You find yourself quietly waiting.
"What am I waiting for?" you ask.
Questions run through you.
They make you smile, they make you cry.
You luster over the animals and the slowly skidding bushes.
The wind catches your hair, moving each strand with a simple bliss.
You forget why you came to this peaceful heaven.
What was your purpose?
Was it to review that depressing fear?
Or to float along the rocky floor with the animals of the freshwaters?
Suddenly, you hear a voice in your traveling movements.
It is yours?
The one in your head?
You find yourself running now.
When did you start?
Why?
You hear the pebbles beneath your feet slide forcefully into the water.
"Please don't get hurt," you hear.
You are worried now.
"Where are you going?" the voice screams.
Your running gets you nowhere,
But you fall.
Your fall causes you to interact with the passionate, blue waters.
This brings upon a multitude of problems.
Specifically:
You can't swim. You never learned.
The fall was a strong, hard one.
A solid fall.
You feel the jagged rocks against your skin now.
They're striking you.
Your blood pollutes the water.
There is a waterfall up ahead, you see.
You can't be saved.
That ends you;
Another life not meant to be.
