Buying Likes on Social Media: How to Spend Your Money Wisely

About two billion people are using social media worldwide. To say that the internet is already crowded would be an understatement. And it will increase by a billion more in the next two years. This makes every business, brand, and social media influencer will try to outdo each other to gain exposure.

With these big numbers, not every click, like, and follower comes naturally. Many brands are buying likes and followers online to increase their exposure.

You have to be careful from whom you purchase these likes. Some of them are bots that could harm your brand. These bots do deliver, but they are artificially inflating your followers and likes for a fee.

Overview of Buying Likes on Social Media

You can find plenty of websites online that are selling likes and followers. While some are cheap and therefore appealing, you need to be careful in dealing with this tactic, as these interactions can harm your brand.

Facebook

Facebook has a strong policy against inauthentic likes and fake profiles. However, a lot of bots can pass through it and work their way.  Buying likes may boost your engagement, but these results will not last long.

There is a problem with buying likes for a particular post. There is the likelihood that the next Facebook ads you will release will reach the same fake profiles. Your budget will only connect with phony profiles, and your ads will not deliver because they are full of fake users. In the end, you will have to sort through your page to determine who is real and who is not.

The solution: You need to find a company that offers facebook likes and followers from real active users. Or you can boost your post by posting relevant content and promoting your page.

Twitter

Twitter is a minefield of trolls and fake interactions. Unlike other social media platforms, Twitter does not require its users to tie your account to a real identity. That is because the platform is not designed for more person-to-person interactions.

The case of buying Likes and Retweets on Twitter is not monetarily damaging but it may still affect the brand. What makes the Likes relevant in Twitter is for the genuine users. They are using the platform to connect with brands. If they find your account filled with off-tone retweets and abnormal following to follower ratio, they may label you as irrelevant. You may earn a bad reputation online.

Instagram

Instagram is riddled with fake interactions as its users are using the platform to create noise for their brand. It accommodates both startups and famous celebrities and bloggers who may turn to buying likes to boost its relevance. On Instagram, the more followers, comments, and likes they have on their feed, the more influential they are. These days being an influencer can earn your brand collaborations and deals that translate to hefty payoff.

Like on Twitter, there are no restrictions on Instagram that ties your identity to your account. However, if your credibility will be harmed by buying likes, your brand’s honesty may take the hit. Your sponsors will not like it, and you will lose out on future deals.

What is the Honest Alternative to Buying Likes

You can purchase engagements and boost your profile on the internet, but this practice belongs to the grey category.  Although buying likes is not illegal, and are undetected and unpunished by social media platforms, you have to be careful.

Before you decide on buying likes, think about your brand's reputation. There is an honest alternative to buying likes, but it requires more time. However, the rewards from hard work are often more lucrative.
