Story Time

The usual.

“Mommy!!!! Help!!!” I scream as the flames came closer towards my body.

My family was gone, they abandoned me. I’m not surprised it’s always happening to me.

Like...the usual kind of.

“Rain!!” I heard my friend knock me out of my thoughts.

As I lift my head up I feel my silky messy, hair brush my face.

“Why are you yelling?” I groaned.

“Cause class is over dummy.” She frowned at me while she puts her books inside her backpack.

“Whatever... can we go to lunch now?”

I stood walking towards the exit and headed to the café.

As y’all can tell, I’m not a easy person to deal with. I tend to give people a bad vibe when they first meet me but not Josie. Oh no.

She is the complete opposite of me but surprisingly still around.

As I walk in I hear all of conversation drop. Is this a every day thing you ask? Well....

Yea.  :)

It’s not that I’m mean, I guess it’s just because of my dad richness.

They must think I can kill them in one second, even though I can but wouldn’t.

“So you still think your the queen of the school huh?”

That’s Melanie, basically the bitch of the school.

She wants to be in my position but that won’t happen.

“Leave her alone... she seems such a sweet little girl.”

I felt someone grab my waist, uncomfortable?

Yes.

I nudged my elbow into his rib cage. He is very lucky I missed by a inch or I would’ve killed him. Lol.

“Ok... damn...” as I watch him fall on the floor , I saw that he wasn’t ugly actually.

But that’s Nick... the player.

“You got guts to hit a boy like that.”

He smiled as he struggled to get up.

“Let’s go eat Rain..” josie whispered under her breath as a sign that she was scared.

People find nick and Melanie scary because they are basically the biggest users in our school.

Ah-ah.

They are the rudest people you will ever meet.

As we grab our food and head towards our table, we noticed some new students walk in.

Based on their looks they look like twins. The girl is quite short but with curly black hair and a small smile on her face while, the boy quite tall around 5’9 I would say, frisky short hair and had a rude face expression.

“Look Rain, a cutie already.”

Josie has a boy obsession as any other girl in my school.

While me on the other hand could care less about these pity boys.

I grew up to stay away from boys other than my brother and my dad.

I don’t know why but I’m guessing for protection.

“Please... it’s just another waste of time” I rolled my eyes as I stuff my face with some fries.

“Your just heartless Rain, lighten up a little.” She nudged my shoulder as she drool over the new boy.

“Lighten up? These boys will only whisper into your ear to make you weak to your knees and then find a way to get in your pants and ditch you the next morning!”

I realized I said that too loud because of Josie face expression. I looked around and saw the boys pissed and the girls giving me a death stare.

“Oops...maybe a little too loud..?”I covered my face in embarrassment.

“Not all boys sweetheart.” I felt a warm breeze on my neck.

“Nick your the main boy I’m talking about.” I walked out of the café as I threw my lunch on the floor.

Flashback*

“Please stop...I dont want to....”

When I was little I was walking in the hallway looking for my sister.

I came upon this sound in her bedroom, like she was begging for help.

I heard the bed rock, wondering who was she talking to?

I peeked through the door and saw my sister getting raped by Nick Jackson, at least I thought she did...

I was about to run in their and help her but it was too late, my sight became blurry and soon to be black.

When I woke up, I was cuddle in my bed.

Was it a nightmare?

I ran towards my sister room, Raevelyn.

“Rae?!” As I rushed through her door I saw her tied up with her chest cut open...I couldn’t believe it, my sister was dead right in front of my eyes.

I was hoping it was another prank but it wasn’t.

The one thing that nevers leaves my head is that-

I wasn’t their to save my sister.

End of flashback*

4:15 finally came around and it was time to go home.

“Rain over here!!”

I hear Josie call my name but I tend to ignore it.

Wasn’t in the mood I guess.

She eventually caught up to me but as I turn around I seen her on the ground gasping for air as if she ran a marathon.

I couldn’t help but bust out laughing as she glared at me,giving me “not the time.”Look.

I was laughing so hard that my chest started to hurt, I eventually calm down after 15 minutes of comedy.

“Are you done rain?”she wipes the dirt off her clothes still glaring at me though.

“Yea...my bad.”

“Why did you run out the café like that?”

My smiles faded in less then a second.

“Just ...had to use the bathroom..ladies problem.”

She just gave me a confused look as if she was trying to find the real answer.

I started to pray that she wouldn’t ask any other questions.

.....

My sweat dropped on my jacket giving me the clue that I needed to calm down.

I saw her lips open about to say something -“ ok! I’ll see you later” she gave me a hug and walked off.

My heart went back to my regular pace.

“And this is why I pray.” I sighed.

...

I walk into my house smelling a beautiful aroma.

“Hey sweetie dinner will almost be ready!” I hear my dad soft voice fill my ears.

“Why so early dad?”

I sit on the counter watching him stir the stir fry rice.

“Well...I’m going to meet your mother tonight.”

I never saw my mother after she left us because she so called ‘had to find the right job’.

“Why..?” My voice cracked trying to not think about her.

I’m very sensitive about my mother, even though she was never around, I miss her. I want to be that kid that goes shopping with their mom or gossip or tell me how my body is changing.

But I had to do all that stuff alone or on a computer.

“I have to meet her for the divorce papers...” I could tell that my father was holding back his tears, I don’t blame him.

My mom was beautiful soft hearted, I guess when my sister and brother was born she just didn’t like me then.

She was always cold towards me but a angel towards my siblings.

Made me feel like I was a mistake.

My dad didn’t like that at all, they used to always argue in their room and I was just standing on the other side of the door, crying in my brother arms.

“I miss her...”I murmured under my breath.

“I don’t know why..” I heard a deep voice coming from the hallway.

My brother, James.

“ why are you still here? Your late for work.”

“Sis that’s not how you talk to your brother when he wakes from his slumber.”he smiled as he gave me a hug.

“Why y’all talking about mom?”

He stuff his mouth with a apple, not asking but it’s fine.

Lol.

“Well dad is going to her house to sign the divorce papers...”

that bitch.

“So y’all arent getting back together huh? I always knew our mom was a ass.” He took his last bite of the apple and was headed towards the door.

“Well I’ll see y’all later.”he waved us goodbye and we heard his engine echo away.

“I wanna go with you dad-“

My dad had interrupted me.

“No.” His voice growled.

“Yes I am, she is my mother too.”

“You think she wants to see you Rain? It would just be another yelling moment between you two.”

He finished stirring the rice while I just stood there, thinking he was right.

Here it goes again, the feeling that I feel 25/8. I truly hate it to be honest, nobody can take this feeling away unless their someone special.

It’s called ...

Loneliness.

I was always feeling alone when I was younger, while my mom yelled at me for the littlest things I did and nobody was their to stand up for me. My father was to busy working all day and my siblings would be at school while she served me as a maid.

I just wanna ask her why she treated me differently.

“I’m going upstairs, I’ll see you when you get home.” I got up from the table and walked upstairs.

Few hours later.

After I heard my dad leave, I decided to do some homework to kill some time.

Ring*

“Hello?”

I heard a familiar voice but in the tone of their voice there were aggravated.

“Rain? Finally I found your number.”

“Nick why are you so annoying?” I gritted my teeth together.

“Oh Lil miss rain drop, don’t be grouchy.”

“Go suck a-“

“Ah- not nice but anyway, how about we hangout?”

“No.”

“Why?” He whined.

“I have homework to do.” I sighed.

“Fine but what about me coming over to your house?”

“Absolutely not.”

If my either or my dad seen someone in my boy specifically a boy, they would literally kill me. They freak out if boys try’s to give me their number.

“Your boring...” he sighed.

“Can you come over here then?...”I could tell that he was kinda of nervous cause that was the only option left.

“Why me? Go ask your friends.”

“Your special and their boring.”

“Alright, see you in a little bit.”
