Chapter 1

Gullible

Predawn morning
Where water meets the land
Eastern sky streaked
To the lone cry of the gull
As I work in the rain
Thinking about dry shoes
Wondering what the gull
Has to cry about
Eats what it wants
When it wants
Known to follow Cruise ships
For hundreds of miles
Talk about single mindedness
You don't need companionship
You breed  It's innate
It's not like you're watching the nest.
I watched you bully some crows
Around a spilled Popeye's garbage can
You were miles from any coastline
What the Hell?!?
Why don't you hang out at the dump
You greedy bastard
Just shut the hell up
