Geeky love

‘You’re smart, young, beautiful, and playful. Did you get the best of all words Mrs. Lockheart?’ Mr. Smith asked flirtatiously, as Cynthia Lockheart sat on the edge of his desk, thumbing through a manila folder.

‘I suppose I did Mr. Smith. I was blessed every which way.’ She pulled a piece of paper and sat it in front of Mr. Smith. He scanned over it and shrugged. He put his attention back on the 22 year old in front of him.

‘Surly you don’t want to work the rest of your life. Have you ever thought of settling down? You know, with someone who can pay for all your hearts desires.’ Of course he was referring to himself, but Cynthia played dumb.

‘Don’t know. I’m waiting for the right guy.’ What a low blow. She didn’t need to look at Mr. Smith to see the scowl on his face. She laid another paper on his desk.

‘Say, how about you and I go out to eat tonight. I’ll pick you up at eight.’ Mr. Smith watched Cynthia stand, she was a perfect form. Her blond hair put up in a bun. Her short black dress made every man stop and stare. And once they saw her face, they’d do anything to make her theirs.

She smiled at Mr. Smith, and tapped the papers in front of him with her pen, ‘An error in the fifth and 7th paragraph Mr. Smith. The Longhorn Company didn’t show you the flaws in their offer, so I looked for them myself.’ She walked to the door, her body switched perfectly, not too much, and none too little. As she was about to leave, she stopped. She turned her face slightly, only enough for Mr. Smith to see the side of her face. ‘Oh, and Mr. Smith, I’m not interested.’

With that she left, His jaw dropped, he had all the money a girl could dream of. And she turned him down. What more could she want? What more could she get?

The geek lounge

Cynthia carried a large container of donuts and a tray of coffee carefully down the steps. She always brought the basement gang, or what others called the geek squad, a treat; Mostly because she wanted to see Charles. She stopped by the door, listening.

‘Yes young Jedi’ Said Steve in a yoda voice. ‘You learn well. But like every Jedi, you have a lover in mind.’ The gang burst into laughter, oh the unsaid jokes between nerdy men.

‘Shut up Steve.’ Replied Charles, pushing his glasses up, and typing at an abnormal speed on his computer, just as they all did.

‘We know who your princess Leigh is!’ Burak taunted, pressing ‘enter’ on his key board and leaning back in his chair.

‘I said SHUT UP. She doesn’t like me! I’m…..well I’m me, and she’s beautiful smart, funny, she’s everything, guys like me don’t get girls like her. Cynthia, shes going to end up with a big time corporation guy.’ Charles typed angrily on his computer.

‘Woe calm down!’ Travis threw up his hands in surrender ‘We didn’t mean to touch your sore spot!’

Before Charles could reply, Cynthia walked in, as if she hadn’t heard the whole conversation. ‘Hey guys.’ She said with a pearl white smile.

Charles kept his eyes down at his computer, still typing as if the key board had done a great crime. ‘Hey’ The rest of the gang replied in union.

Cynthia set the donuts and coffee on Steve’s desk, which was a few feet from Charles’s desk. Sitting down on the edge of Charles’s desk, she crossed her legs, purposely making the skirt rise a little. His eyes travelled up, but the shadows and her crossed legs blocked any more exploration. His eyes shot up towards hers, realizing his crime. She stared at him, her lips in a soft almost devious grin. He shifted in his chair, she could already see his excitement in his cac-e’s. ‘If you type any harder, your key board might break.’ She said causally as she reached over and grabbed her hot chocolate from the tray.

‘Oh…’ He replied as he leaned back ‘I was just…nervous. I’m almost done with the new software.’ He avoided eye contact.

‘Oh? Tell me about it.’ She starred at him, her full focus just on him. The rest of the gang looked to one another with raised eye brows.

‘Well’ his voice shook a little ‘It’s basically were any one in our company can have their own profile, like a virtual office of sorts. It will help with documents and files and stuff.’

MMmm…’ She said taking a sip of hot chocolate. Charles wasn’t sure if the mm was for what he said or her drink. ‘Charles?’

‘Ye-……yeah?’ he began to cast his eyes every which way around the room.

‘How about you and I hang out tonight?’ She waited for a response, reaching over she took a powdered donut and took a bite.

‘Yeah, sure. Um, how about my place…you like-‘ he stopped seeing her slowly lick her lips clean of the powdered sugar. She was staring at him, doing it on purpose. He cleared his throat, “You like movies?”

“Yes, I do.” She took another bite, “Pick me up at nine.” She said with a devious smile, she wrote down her address and tossed it on his lap. “Bye guys!” She practically skipped from the office, or more like the basement cellar. She had finally gotten a date with her beloved geek

Pick me up

Cynthia tapped her fingers on the edge of her couch. It was already ten pm, had he forgotten? Just then a car pulled up in her drive way. It was an old Chevy. A Darth-Vader bobble head on the dash board, and a Anakin sky walker and yoda key chain hanging from the mirror. She smiled to herself, that was one reason she loved Charles, he may be shy, but he was original.

The doorbell rang, like a love bird singing a tune. She rushed to the door and opened it. Charles stuttered for words. She was wearing a short blue and white striped dress, with heels. Her hair was put up in a sloppy bun, unlike the neat one she always wore at work. She was stunning.

w….WOW.” He said as his eyes scanned her over. “You like it? It’s a new dress.” She said, stepping onto the porch and kissing him on his cheek. He blushed and couldn’t speak, she was doing this on purpose. “Sooo…” she said, “What movie are we gonna see?” He took a deep breath and fixed his glasses, “I actually bought a few. I thought we could watch them at my place.” She smiled and shut her front door, locking it. “Sounds good, lets go.” Grabbing his arm, she dragged him to his car.

Closing the passenger door, she waited for him to get in. She loved how shy he was, it would make the night all the more fun. Any touch, even a brush would make him stiffen. It made his voice crack with nervousness.

Charles drove silently, glancing over once and a while as Cynthia wiggled in her seat. Shifting her skirt higher. She was making him nervous, and on purpose! He could tell, the way she talked, walked, and acted around him. She was never so flirty with any one. He smiled silently, he had a feeling tonight was going to be a lot more than movies.

Pulling up to his apartment, he blushed. She was younger then him, and already had a house. Sure it was small, but it was bigger than his apartment. “Well should we head in?” He asked, his voice cracking at the last part. She smiled and stepped out. Just standing there

He came behind her. “Did you change your mind? He asked disappointedly. She turned to him and tilted her head, “No, I don’t know which apartment is yours.” Oh yeah.

He led her to his little dwelling and let her in. It was clean, but collector comics hung on the wall. A book shelf full of ‘action figures’ sat in the corner. She couldn’t help but smile. This was just how she imagined it.

Charles was already putting in the first movie and laying out a bowl of Twizzlers. He seemed to stand pretending to fiddle with the dvd, but he was waiting for her to sit. She didn’t, so he gave in and sat down first. She scooted right next to him. He sat up straight, why did she have to tease him? If she wanted more than movies she shouldn’t have come. After all, he had to wait for passion until married.
