Love is and will forever be undeniable. It's something we just can't get rid of. Sometimes, we end up loving those who we hated. We fall in love, often with the ones we spent our whole life, trying to get revenge on. The one who hurt us deeper than any other person, but at the same time; that one is the only one that can love us beyond any other.

(I thought the Japanese looked cool ^_^)

The attack

Japan, 18 hundreds

It all started about the year of 1812. The vampires, we had them under control, we as in Humans. We had created a locked society for them. It was a plague that one man got. And he transferred it to others, and they transferred it to more. The chain reaction continued until we confined them to an isolated area. No civilization for 1,000 miles in any direction. We of course fed them, kept them alive. We gave them the blood of our butchered animals. It could almost be thought of as dogs, wolfs, whatever you prefer to call them. We had them locked down, in our control for so long, that they became unaware of their power. They forgot how easily just one man could kill an army. They actually feared us.

They feared us until Lord Kenawa, ken for short, began to rise. Like most communities, they had their rulers. But even their rulers obeyed us. I suppose my people, the mortals, saw this coming. We were just praying it wouldn’t happen anytime soon. But it did. Lord Ken got tired of being told what to do, century after century. The human rulers that ruled over him; would die and their sons rule in place. But the vampires never died. He realized, this in its self was an advantage. The only way to kill a vampire was by silver, even then, it was more likely you would vitally wound a vampire then kill it. The only sure kill was a knife to their heart. And considering most people wouldn’t get that close, Ken rose. He convinced his army’s to rebel, and soon they over powered us. They made us their slaves.

Silver was out lawed, and any village, person, or vessel of anytime was to be destroyed. My village was the rebellious one. Unlike others we planned to strike back. Bows with sliver arrows, throwing knifes, spears, swords, shields, all silver. Then I came into the picture. I was born on august 23, 1838. All seemed well, I had a good life. Every night up until the day we were attacked I was trained. I was 7 years old and could fight better then all my other peers, girl or boy. But on 1844, they came. Somehow Ken found out, and he surprised attacked us.

I watched him walk through the flames of my burning house, the back and front door in flames. No escape for me or my family. He walked through them like he didn’t feel a thing. He looked at me, his golden eyes piercing me. I suddenly forgot how to fight, to be honest I forgot how to breath. I was so afraid. I trembled in my mother’s arms. My father stood with a sliver dagger. Defending us, but we all knew it was our end.

With a smile, Ken walked forward to my dad. He was quicker then ken thought; he missed his heart by mere centimeters. Then I watched my dad’s eyes widen with fear. Ken grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the wall, his feet dangling. He looked at me again, and smiled. “Your daughter Mr. Yen, is very beautiful. Even at her age I can see the woman she will become.” He eyed me, then my mother who had her eyes closed, crying. “She has many traits of her mother.” My father began to lose reality. Ken loosened his grip just enough for my father to breath and speak. He gasped for air, I then noticed the fire wasn’t closing in, it was as if he was controlling it.

“Don’t touch either of them You sick bastard! I’ll ki-“ He clenched his hand around my father throat again, cutting his air off. “Yen….you started this whole up rise. None of this would have happened if you obeyed the rules. But no worries, I personally will not touch your wife, my other men will. And I will not let any one touch the girl,” He leaned in close to my father and whispered something; leaning back he streaked his left eye down. My hand went defensively to my left eye. I was born with a pure golden streak down the center of my brown eye. It made the pupil of my eye stand out. My father’s eyes traveled to meet mine, his eye full of tears.

Releasing his grasp once again, Ken said “Last words Yen.” My father hesitated looking me dead in the eye, pinned by Ken. He was so helpless, so vulnerable. “Until death Cherry Blossom. Now……….RUN!” I knew what that meant. He always told me never to fall in love with an immortal, until death. Until death I swore. I ran away from ken as I heard the sound of what would forever haunt me. The cracking of my father’s neck, his lifeless body drop with a thud to the ground. And my mother’s terrified scream.

The flames didn’t burn me as I jumped threw them. The vampires seemed to take no notice to me as I ran away. Or maybe they didn’t care, but they would. I swore they would.

See him again

Japan, 1854

I grew older, learned to live off of the land. I made my own clothing, picked my own food. And I fought my own battles. I hunted vampires. I had five basic rules to keep me alive; Don’t make bets with vampires, don’t be merciful to vampires, Don’t trust vampires, Kill all vampires, and never fall in love, with any one.

My long blond locks had grown past my behind. I had found a black liquid in the cave I live. I tripped and it got on some of my hair and clothes. The next morning I tried to wash it out, but it stayed. So I died black highlights into my hair. Over time they became dark purple in color, I enjoyed them all the same.

Everyday I went out to my, what use to be village. It was just old burnt down wood now. I visited the home I use to live in, and said blessings for my mother and father. It was 1850 the second time I saw Ken. I was praying as usual, my silver sword strapped to my back, my blond and purple locks blowing in the wind.

“I hear you’re making quite a name for yourself my Blossom.” His voice rang out. My body froze, he could kill me in a heartbeat. I slowly turned. He stood with one foot planted on the old stump, leaning on his propped up knee. His perfect face was striking; the sun setting made the pale skin seem to glow. His raven hair dancing perfectly in the wind, as if by a melody. “I am not your blossom.” I said through clenched teeth, drawing my sword carefully. “Aww, but dear Cherry, you are.” He slid his foot from the stump and walked around it towards me. I spread out my legs in a fighting position.

“Cherry Blossom, I ruled my kingdom well, I still do. I do not just feast on any person. I give the villages options. They have set aside a few women who birth children just for my empire. The woman can only keep the second born child. It is rule Blossom.” I studied his movements carefully as he spoke. My mother explained to me this way of life. She was one of those women. I was her second born, at least that’s what she told me. “So what’s that have to do with me?” I asked, ready to attack.

“Well, it’s as clear as day. You’re her fist born, you are mine.” He closed his eye and slid his finger down his eye. Every woman is injected with a formula of type. Every child she gives birth to will have a golden streak down their eye. Except for the second born. I was ready to strike now, “My brother was her first! He died!” With a smile of sympathy he said softly, “My blossom, she killed him, so she could keep you.”

“YOU LIER!” I ran at him with full speed, jumping high in the air, coming down with my sword, ready to cut him in half. He hit the air, the current of his strike so powerful it knocked me slightly of course. Putting out his palm, he let the sword go through his hand, all the way until I stood horrified in front of him, my sliver sword burning his flesh. “My Blossom. I am the purist of any vampire. Silver cannot kill me. Nothing can kill me.” With that, he wrapped his other hand around my blade, and yanked the whole sword through his hand, handle and all. All vampires hated being in pain. They avoided it like most normal people, but he, he embraced it.

I fell back, starring horrified up at him. He threw my sword down to the left of me and walked in front of me, kneeling to eye level with me. “You may be one of the most powerful vampire slayers alive, but no one my blossom can kill me. No one………..one day this pain will be pure ecstasy. One day you’ll beg me for my embrace, and I will give it.” My body trembled, I hadn’t realized he was so strong. So unlike other vampires. He put an index finger to my chin and said softly, “Now sleep” and just like that everything went black.
