When I was 16, I fell in love with this guy name Luke Anderson. His family moved in the house next door to us. He was a new student in my high school. We started talking when we accidentally bumped into each other in the hall. I was to busy reading that I wasn't focus on where I was going. He was talking to the football team when we bumped into each other.

 He said ," Oh my god, I'm so sorry I should of paid attention on where I was going."

 This guy name Ben said" don't worry about her she's a geek come on before we're late for lunch." 

Luke said" go ahead and go man. I'll catch up later." The football team left. 

Luke asked me "Are you okay?" 

I said " Ummm...... yeah I'm fine. You didn't have to stay. You didn't have to apologize either. It was my fault, I wasn't paying attention." 

 He laughed " hahahahaha it was technically both our faults but thanks. Now I don't seem like a bad guy." He pointed at my book (which was The fault In Our Stars) ," I read that you know. It was a good book."

 I asked ," you read a books?"

He said "hahahaha why do you seem so surprised?"

 I said " you just don't seem like the type of guy who reads." 

He smiled and said," well I'm a guy who plays sports and reads but I should really go now."

 I said," okay bye." 

He started to walk away but then turned around and said," Sorry I didn't get your name." 

I smiled and said ," It's Katlyn Brooks." 

He said," It was really nice to meeting you katlyn. I'm Luke Anderson. I'm new !  We should hang out sometimes?"

 I said,"sure" and I walked away. Since then we hanged out every day. 

We been friends for a year until one night, he kissed me. He was my first kiss and my first boyfriend. We dated for two years untill I moved away. My dad had a brain tumor and he died a week before my birthday. My mom decided moving away was a good idea. A new start for my mom, my little sister and me. 

The day we left was the day I had to say goodbye to Luke. We were almost done packing  all our stuff in a moving van when he came.

 He grabbed my hand and said ," so this is it huh?" 

 I said," this is it" 

 he said," Kate I know that one day we will be together again. Until then remember that I will always love you!!!!" 

 I was crying after he told me that. I said," I love you too." We keep on staring at each other.

 My mom said " honey it's time to go." 

I said," give me a minute" and I kissed him, He kissed me back and then I had to go. 

That year not only did I lose my father but I always lost the love of my life.....

  When I moved, I became a totally different person. My mom was right. Moving would take my mind of my dad's death. It's been hard lately since he's passed. My mom and I both have jobs so we can take care of Lucy, my younger sister. I'm 18 now, it's been 2 years since my dad has been gone. It's pretty hard losing someone. I always think of my dad. The way he used to call me "sweetheart", the way my mom smiled at him, the way Lucy use to sit on his lap. 

No ones ever the same when you lose someone. I still think about Luke. What would have happen if I didn't move? Would we still be together? Now I have a new boyfriend, his name is Matt. He's in a band and he's a senior just like me. He doesn't know about Luke. I never really told anyone. Didn't see the point of bringing up the past. 

It was Monday morning, which meant I had to get ready for school. I put my hair in a ponytail and wore a light pink dress. Matt was outside waiting on me. I walked into the kitchen and said ," goodbye" to Lucy and my mom. I went outside and there he was. Matt, he is the opposite of Luke. Matt had blond hair and Luke had brown hair. Matt had green eyes and Luke had light brown eyes. I stepped into his truck and he smiled and said ," morning beautiful" I said ," morning" and kissed him.  We arrived At school and my best friend was with us. Her name is Molly, she's very pretty and she's funny. Molly, Matt and I always sit next by each other in the morning for  announcements. When I woke up I had a feeling that something was going to change. 

We all sat down on the bleachers. 

Mr.Fisher began to talk ,"  Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We only have a few announcements this morning . First I would like to say thank you too all the people who are helping out  with the dance coming up .second I need the following  two students to come down please. Brianna Gamble ....," 

Brianna is like the popular girl at our school. She tried to hook up with Matt. Everyone doesn't like her but everyone is afraid of her, of course I'm not. 

Mr.Fisher continued ," and Katlyn Brooks." 

I stood up and decided to stand next by briana. She gave me a look like she didn't like me , which I know she doesn't. 

Mrs. Fisher said,"  Briana and Katlyn  had been hand picked to show two new students around the school. Briana this is your student. Her name is Alex bird."

 Alex wasn't ugly, she was actually pretty. She didn't wear makeup but knowing how briana is by the end of the day Alex is going to become one of briana's soldiers. 

"Katlyn, here's your new student. He's name is Luke Anderson."  

Did he just say LUKE ANDERSON???? He couldn't have,Luke lives in California. Why the hell would he be in North Dakota???? When I saw him, I felt like passing out. He looked exactly the same as he did two years ago. I couldn't speak and I'm pretty sure the whole school saw that. 

Mr.Fisher," Katlyn, Are you okay ?" 

I said ," yeah I'm fine." 

Mr. Fisher continued," okay then. You are all dismissed."  

I didn't want to see him. He was in my past. How can he come here? UGHHH!!!!! Luke just stared at me . We didn't speak until I introduced him to Matt and Molly.

 I said," umm.... Luke this is my best friend, Molly and my boyfriend, Matt . Guys (Matt and Molly) this is Luke. We kinda sorta went to the same high school before I moved." 

Molly and Matt were speechless. 

Molly said ," hi Luke, it's really nice to meet you 

  We all had homeroom together, including Luke. We all sat next by each other. One Luke decided to go to the bathroom.

 Molly asked," why didn't you tell us about him?"

 I said"there is nothing to tell." 

Matt joined in and asked," so you guys didn't have a thing? Cause he looks at you this type of way that is making me jealous." 

I said," nope" 

he asked," are you sure? cause you seem like your lying," 

Molly said," did you and Luke use to date in your old school? Tell the truth."

 I said," OKAY ! OKAY! Fine Luke and I dated for two years but we broke up cause I moved okay happy now" 

Matt asked "Do you still have feeling for him?"

 I said," WHAT? No,he just got here I don't know how I feel about him, but I know I love you." 

He said ," I love you too." Luke walked in and sat back down. We didn't say anything after that. 

Matt had football practice and Molly had drama to go to, so it was only Luke and I at the table.

 Luke said," It's really nice to see you again" He tried so hard not to make eye contact. 

I said," yeah you too. Why did you come here?" 

Luke said," I didn't know you would be here. I moved because my dad was transferred to North Dakota cause he has some work he has to do here." 

I said," oh."

 He asked," so how long have you been dating your boyfriend?"

 I said ,"one year." 

He grabbed my hand and said," I missed you!! I know it's been two years but I never stopped thinking about you. Yes, I had girlfriends ,but I will always be in love with you. I want to start over give me a second chance. I know that you still love me . I can make you happy. Just give us a chance?" 

I didn't say anything , I didn't know what to say. 

It took me awhile to realize that Matt was standing right behind me.
