It has been a while!
In September of 2019, I started university. I don't intend to sound melodramatic or sappy, but I can't say this without sounding it; I am so much happier than I have ever been before.
Which means, sadly, that I haven't really been writing much (for fun that is)!
I just wanted to log on here to post some little scraps I have been working on in the past few months. So without any more rambling, here we go! :)
A fourteen-line poem
How original of thee
But Shakespearean language
Is wasted on me
You beg and you plead
For my heart on a platter
But thou fails to see
That it's going to shatter
Don't come too close
For I will not let you in
Don't ask for the key
This, you can never win
So try again tomorrow, and see how far you get
I assure you, I'm not your newest Juliet.
I take comfort in the fact that
It's quarter to three somewhere
That way, there is always a place
For you to reside in the thoughts I lay bare
Nothing feels as real
As the hands that whirl endlessly around
But I long for just a single hand
To pull me back down to the ground.
Wake me up, and break me up
I really need it to be ten past five
Because when all's said and done
It's been a good run
But you no longer make me feel alive.
