The Drunken Bell: Love Poems

Tablo reader up chevron

Introduction

When I first joined Twitter in 2016, I immediately became enamored with the abundance of writing prompts. Most of the poems in this collection were inspired by those prompts, and all deal with the theme of love which I believe is at the core of all writing.

Thanks to the Tablo community for reading and supporting my poetry. The comments, favorites, follows, and reads have meant so much to me. I've cut down the collection available here as I explore some publishing options. I will share news as soon as I can!

In the meantime, I would love to hear from you! Please connect with me on my website:  http://jdbrettonwriter.weebly.com/ on Twitter @JDBrettonWriter or on Facebook JD Bretton.

Cheers!

Hi Arez, Thank you so much for your kind words! It really means a lot to me! Just getting used to the new Tablo format so didn't see your comments until now.

words fall

words fall

from your lips,

burn like embers

scorching my skin

Short but powerful!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback. :)

the words

it is not a lustful touch

but your gaze

that unravels me,

the words

whispered

against my skin

that unhinge

my heart
