When the phrase "Lion's Mane" is encountered, the association with the head of a lion immediately comes to mind, but not as the name of a mushroom. Nature never tires of surprising with its creations, and man with the names of these creations!

 

The scientific name of the unusual Ezhovik pectinate mushroom. You can also meet the names "Monkey's head", "Bearded tooth", "Mushroom noodle".

 

You will be surprised, but it is edible! The Chinese absolutely adore it. They say it tastes like seafood (especially shrimp) and has good antioxidant properties and lowers blood sugar.

 

Interesting fact! The most important ability of Ezhovik crested is to treat neurodegenerative diseases, i.e. dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis.

 

In nature occurs on oaks, beeches, birches. Can be found in the Amur region, Primorsky Krai, Crimea, China and the Caucasus. It grows very well artificially.

 

Ezhovik culinary experts call it "forest meat". It can be found in expensive restaurants and is highly prized for its uniqueness.

 

The cost on the market is very high and is more appreciated not artificially grown mushrooms, but wild ones. They have more health benefits.
