Mum was upset. She was still upset after Dad died. The kids werent the Same anymore. Neither was I. I loved Dad. He was like My best friend.

It was friday Night and we were all sitting in the living room watching eastenders. Usually we would be out eating a live.ly meal doen at the carvery. But without Dad there was Nothing more to do. 

Mum was as quiet as a mouse, she had never spoke a single word Since that Night. We were all quiet tonight, me, mum and riley on the big couch. Daniel on the small couch with his toy cars and Liv on the medium one with her pad and drawings.

" mum, why don't you go out with the girls tonight?" I asked

" jade you know I can't leave the four of you in a small house on your own."

" yes but I am 12 years old almost 13 in 3 months and I've got keys so you can go and have a good night out with Charla and Lauren.

Mum was thinking, she always pulled a grin face when she wants to say yes to something but doesn't want to say it altogether.

" are you sure you'll be ok with them tho jade? I mean if I did go out it'll probably be only till 11 and it's only 7 now."

"Yes we'll be ok I can let them watch one movie and then I'll tuck them into bed." She was thinking even harder now and I knew she would say yes."

"Ok then ro I'll come back by 11:30 I promise." Ro was my nickname named after my nan. Mum kissed my forehead and went to get dressed with some makeup on.

 Liv went to watch mum get her dress and makeup on while Daniel and Riley sat and drove cars all over eachother. After about 10 minutes mum came in, in her leopard print heels, her black leather jacket with her black and gold dress. She looked beautiful. 

" mum you look really pretty can I dance with you?" Said Daniel 

" no sorry son but I'll dance tomorrow love you jade thanks for doing this ro see you all tomorrow morning." She said as she shut the door. It was really quiet after she went, the kids we behaving really well. We watched tinker bell and then transformers to make it fair with Daniel. After that I gave them a drink and set them off to bed. Riley was easy she fell asleep as soon as she hit the quilt, Olivia was a little fussy but she tried to settle down. Daniel was the worst at getting settled into bed he ran around the house screaming and taking his top off. Once I grabbed him I put him into the blanket and he settled down afterwards. I woke about 1:00 in the morning and mum still wasn't back. I was getting worried that the promise she made was going to be broken. I tried to fall asleep but I couldn't stop thinking about mum.

 I woke from daniels foot hitting my back as he must of snook into my bed in the middle of the night. I wondered around the house to see if mum was back. There was no sign of her. She promised to be back for half 11 so why wasn't she here? 

After about half an hour Riley woke up and complained that Daniel had snook into her bed as well and kicked her in the back. I sat down with her and rubbed her back and she was wondering why we were home alone.

They all woke up at 10 and we heard something from mums bedroom. It sounded like someone was waking up but who was it? I opened the door and noticed  it was mum getting dressed.

" mum What time did you get back?"

" at 11:29 ro just like I promised all you kids were fast asleep So I had a bowl of cereal and went to bed."

" but I was awake at about 1:00 and you werent there."

" oh that was Because charla wanted a lift back to her flat Because she didnt have a car."

Mum made us Some breakfast and explained that she met this Nice man at the brewers. She Saïd his name was Mickey and hè was tall and had brown hair and blue eyes just like mum did. She Saïd hè wanted to take her out tonight for a meal. 

" but did you tell him about us?"

" of course ro hè Saïd hè loves kids and want to take you all out as Well."

At this point I was happy maybe I was going to get a New Dad and mum Can be happy all over again.

" Does hè have kids?"

" No and hè Saïd hè is 33 ro and im 32 so Its a perfect match, your Dad was younger than me and I didnt like it."

About 2:00 mum got a phone call and it was from Mickey hè Saïd he wanted to know us So we could play around his while him and mum could speak.

We called a taxi to take us to his street. Hè was outside waiting for us. Hè had short brown hair all to one side and big blue eyes hè had a smile similar to My dads and was quite thin. When hè Saw me as I was the oldest hè gave me a smile that reminded me of Dad.

" Hello children, Im Mickey, you all look adorable Please come in."

Mickey sounded Nice and the kids seemed to like him. 

"So, What are your names and How old are you all?"

I answerd as the others were scared.

" Im jade and Im 12 almost 13, this is riley and daniel, They are twins and They are 7. And this little one is Olivia, she is 5 and very noisey."

" I am not I just like to speak." She answerd back.

" Well you all have gorgous names and you all are very cute."

Mickey allowed us to play in his back garden Where there was a swing and a trampoline. Me and daniel were bouncing everywhere while riley and Liv were on the swings.

After we had Some sandwiches we went home and all were happy, especially mum.

" Why are you So happy mum?"

" oh Ro, Mickey asked me to go on holiday with him for a week, hè Saïd hè would love to take you lot but hè wanted us to get together and work things out So we Can be a family,"

 I couldnt belive What I was hearing, mum was going away and leaving us for a week!

"So Ive got to look after 3 kids on My OWN for a week?"

" yes but if your struggling ill ask Mary to come and babysit you."

" No ill manage."

I was wondering What I would do. At least it was the school 2 weeks off.

The next Morning mum gave us lot a Kiss and went. We were quiet again. Maybe if I didnt force mum to go out maybe we would still be together.
