Introduction

The Flash looked down at the road. This wasn't going to be easy. He jumped off of the rooftop where he was sitting. He ran towards the truck at full speed. They drove fast, but he was faster. He caught up to the truck and stopped it in its tracks. The crooks got out of the truck and ran towards an alley way. Barry ran after them and blocked their path. Before they could run away, he rounded them up and wrapped them up using nearby scraps. Soon he heard sirens. He ran down the alleyway, not wanting to be seen. The officers got out of their cars. They looked around and saw the crooks tied up. They were confused at who could have done it. They had also seen the same thing at the convenience store. Barry went to the other exit of the Alleyway, but before he could, a flash of yellow light stopped him. He looked to see what it was. The figure walked up to him in a suit of yellow. He looked to see who wore the suit. Barry could not believe his eyes.

The Accident

Barry Allen was a 16 year old kid who went to Central City High School. He was an excellent crime-solver and geek who excelled at everything except gym. He hated gym class, because he wasn't very athletic. He still took the class though, and it would pay off later. He only had a father, as his mother had passed away when he was very young. On this particular day, he and his science class were on a field trip to Garrick Laboratories. The bus dropped them off at the front of the building. However, it was raining, and the students had to rush inside. The students walked with the teacher as she explained what would happen on this field trip. Barry looked over, and saw a rubber like suit. He wondered what it was for. Then a scientist came in and led the students to the main laboratories. He explained what they did here in the lab. However, while they were explaining, Barry walked over to a computer screen explaining a secret chemical. While he looked at the screen, Eobard, the bully of the school, walked over. "Hey nerd, what are lookin' at?", he sneered. Barry said "This secret chemical that--", but Eobard cut him off. "I wasn't being serious", he said. He walked up to Barry, and pushed him into a nearby table. Little did they know, that the table had a container of the chemical on it. The container fell off  the table and onto Barry. At the same time, a lightning bolt erupted in the rain above. As the chemical landed on Barry, he was electrocuted. He screamed in pain and the teacher ran over to him. The other students looked in horror as he screamed from the pain of the lightning. Scientists ran in from other areas with medical supplies, while one called the hospital. The teacher wondered what happened. She then looked over at Eobard who was backing off from the scene. The teacher walked over to him. "Do you know what happened?", she asked. "No", said Eobard in a quivering voice. The teacher walked away from him, seeing that he could not have started this.  Hospital workers came into the lab and the scientists gave them protective gloves. They put Barry on a stretcher and drove him to the hospital. As the Ambulance drove to the hospital, the electricity around Barry was absorbed by his body, and the lightning disappeared.  The ambulance arrived at the hospital, and the hospital workers came and removed Barry. They took his stretcher to a nearby room where Barry's father was sitting. They placed Barry into the bed and closed the door. Barry's father went over to look at his son. Barry was no longer screaming and he seemed perfectly normal. Suddenly, a doctor came in and examined him. It had seemed as if nothing happened to him. He had a few burn marks, but that was all. "Is he okay?", asked his father. "Yes", said the doctor, "He seems to be in perfect condition. "But the accident?", said Barry's father. "Yes, it is a little odd, but he seems to have survived everything that happened", said the doctor. He left the room and Barry's father looked at his son again. He could not believe what happened. He sat down thinking for a while.

Gym Class

It had been a month since the lab accident, but Barry Allen was back to normal. The accident seemed to have no effect on him, and the pain he had felt that day had not returned since then. Everyone at his school was amazed at his fast recovery, as they thought he would not make it. Barry thought that his life would be the same it always was, but he was wrong. It started when he went to gym class. They usually did warm ups, basketball, and exercise. However, they were doing something different today. This time they were going to run instead of playing basketball. The class went out to the running track and the coach briefed them on what to do. "You will do 5 laps around the field, and then you will turn in the opposite direction and do 5 more.", said the coach. This was different than usual, as on running days, they only did 3 laps. The students went towards the starting positions. The coach blew his whistle and the students began running. Barry was not a strong runner, and he often got tired easily. He started running with rest but then he slowed down and ran out of breath on the 4th lap. However, Eobard ran past him. "Hey nerd! Are you too slow to catch up?, sneered Eobard. Barry accepted this challenge and picked up speed again, however, something happened he did not expect. Everything around him slowed down and as he kept running, he kept seeing Eobard's face over and over. On the students side, they saw a ball of lightning speeding around the track at a fast speed. Suddenly, Barry ran headfirst into Eobard knocking him forward 7 feet. The coach did not know what to do, as he had never seen something like this before. Barry could not take it anymore. He fainted from the speed he was traveling, and the ball of lightning evaporated, as if someone just used a vacuum on it. Everyone looked at Barry in shock. He did not know what to think. The school nurse ran over and took Eobard to the health room. He had broken his leg. An administrator also ran up. "What happened?", he asked. The students pointed at Barry. The administrator walked up to him. "Come with me", he said. Barry's year was getting worse and worse.
