It was a bright, clear day in the year 2029. A group of 6 astronauts were heading towards a large space launch pad. "You nervous?", asks one of the crew members. "No.", says Peter, the head of the group. He was one of the top astronauts in the field , and many respected him. This particular voyage was one that was very dangerous. A new planet had been discovered using a new form of space observation technology. This planet was only known as "Planet 432". In order to survive the harsh effects of space, the astronauts are given a high class NASA space shuttle. This shuttle was particularly special in its many features. It had storage for real food (not space food) and advanced tracking technology. However, costs for the interior made it impossible for the construction company to protect the outside. Up on the launch platform, Peter was secretly nervous. He had traveled to other planets, but this was a brand new experience. "The craft is ready.", says an engineer over the intercom. At this message, the astronauts board the craft, and gasp in awe at the many amenities. "Ignition is in place.", says one of the crew members, "We have liftoff in 3 seconds." Peter sat in his co-pilots chair and buckled himself in. 3. He sat nervously not wanting to speak. 2. The timer seemed to be getting even slower, he thought. 1. The rocket's engines ignited, and the rocket flew into space. Peter looked out the front windows. Black air surrounded them in deep space. "What am I worrying about?", he asks aloud. Suddenly one of the astronauts stands up. "I'm so hungry.", he says. He walks over and grabs a small snickers bar from the storage unit. It was perfectly cold. "Thank god for science!", he exclaims. However, his celebration did not last long. A beeping sound is heard and one of the other crew members looks at the screens. "Meteors!?", she exclaims in shock. "What?", asks Peter, also in shock. They hadn't accounted for this. "Don't worry.", says the other crew member who was still eating, "I'm sure that-" Suddenly, the back wall where he is standing is blasted off by a meteor. "Argh!", he screams as he is sucked out of the ship. "Johnson!", exclaims Peter, "We need to leave now!" "Will do.", says the pilot. She attempts to maneuver the ship away, but an explosion is heard. "The right engine is gone!", says the pilot, "We are out of control!" The ship barrels through the deep pits of space and then falls towards an dark grey planet. "That's Planet 432!", says Peter, "Pull up!" "I can't!", says the pilot through tears. The shuttle crashes into the planet below, and lands in a large pool of black ooze. The ooze surrounds the shuttle and Peter awakes to see it attaching to the other astronauts. "No...", he says through bated breath. Suddenly, the ooze attaches to his body and spreads across him. He screams in agony and everything fades to black around him. "What?", he asks. He had survived the ooze. He opens his eyes and sees purple around him. "What is this?", he asks. Suddenly, his thoughts turn to anger. "Those stupid creators!", he yells, "They knew about the dangers, but didn't warn us!" He turns and stares at the Earth angrily. They would pay for what they did to him and his crew. 

To Ryker Colls, everything was a mystery. He had no idea where he came from, or who he was. The only thing he remembered was his birth. He worked as an electrical technician, fixing different forms of technology around the city. On this particular day, he had no work to do, so he watched the news. A few weeks ago, some astronauts had disappeared on a space expedition. "NASA claims that they are willing to pay the families of the astronauts an undisclosed fee if they are not found.", says a reporter on the tv screen. Ryker thought this whole situation was crazy. He also didn't think that NASA was telling the truth. It's probably fake, he thought. "Meanwhile, another series of bizarre disappearances is occurring here on earth!", says the reporter, "Scientists are disappearing and no one knows where they went either." Scientists?, Ryker thought. This story seemed more plausible to him. Suddenly, a pair of pitch black hands grabs onto Ryker shoulders. "What?", he yells. He jumps up as a black monster flips his couch on its side. It seemed familiar to him in some way, but he has no time to think about it, as the creature shoots black ooze at him. "Hey, stay away from me!", he yells. He runs up the stairs and tries to get away on his indoor balcony. The black creature growls, and grabs onto the balcony. However, Ryker escapes through the window as the balcony falls on top of the creature, seemingly killing it. "What the heck was that?", asks Ryker aloud as he escapes down the side of the house. Suddenly, he feels a vibration in his pocket. He pulls out his phone and a news notification appears. He clicks on it, and suddenly a black creature appears in a newsroom. "Attention citizens of Chicago. Sunset will not be showing today.", says the creature, "In its place is me! I am Immortalis, and soon your world will pay for what it has done to Peter Hundow." That's the astronaut from the NASA expedition, Ryker thought. "Surrender now, or face the wrath of the Immortals!", says Immortalis, smiling, "Oh and if you don't it matters not. Your time will come regardless." Immortalis smirks, and the screens cuts to black. "I have to see what he is up to.", says Ryker aloud. He grabs his car keys and heads down the road. "Where could he have recorded that footage?", wonders Ryker. He then remembers that Immortalis said Sunset. He had to go to Sunset News Studios. He steps on the gas and arrives at the newsroom. He hides behind the door and listens to a conversation: "-er will pay as well as everyone else!", says Immortalis, "He resisted Immortalis' grasp!" "We will not fail you.", says a group of voices. Ryker tries to sneak away from the door, but suddenly he is pulled through. "You!", says Immortalis, "Did you think I didn't know you were here!" "Well.", says Ryker, "I thought-" "Shut up!", says Immortalis slapping him in the face, "Soon you will pay for - hey!" Immortalis steps backwards as Ryker has stepped on his foot. "Time to go!", says Ryker. He prepares to leave, but then notices a business card for Vultar Tech. He escapes outside towards his car, and heads there to investigate.    

Ryker heads into Vultar tech and looks around. The whole laboratory had been destroyed. No one was there and vials of substance lay shattered on the ground. "What happened here?", asks Ryker. He sees a desk in the corner that is still intact. He heads over to it, and looks in the drawers for clues. He discovers a safe that had been smashed but never opened. A sticky note was on top that read: Note to self. Password is located within vial 32. Ryker looks around and sees a vial on the ground labeled 32. He grabs it and notices a code at the bottom: 053415. He heads back to the safe and inputs the code, which unlocks the safe. Inside he discovers a video camera labeled Diary. He turns it on and sees a video with a date of 07/20/2019. He plays the video and sees footage of a man. "This experiment will test how the substance reacts to sentience. This is my own experiment that will not be shared.", says the scientist on the video. He pours a vial of hazel substance into a container of black ooze. The ooze suddenly twists back and forth and then stands still. "The test, is a failure.", says the scientist. The video ends. Ryker then scrolls to another clip with the date of 07/21/2019. "We are now attempting to see the results of the substance on a human test subject.", says the scientist. This time he surrounded by other scientists who bring out an 18 year old teenager. Ryker suddenly sees a similarity. "Ok we're ready.", says a female scientist, "You ready, Ryker?" Ryker steps backward and gasps in shock at the video. The black ooze is put onto his body and suddenly he goes mad. The video ends with him grabbing the female scientist by the throat. "No!", he shouts angrily. He looks in the safe and finds a file folder. In it is a document that reads: "Subject has gone mad. We have cleared his mind, but only his birth and knowledge remains. Substance has been shot into space in secret, we don't know where it has gone. Results: Experiment Unsuccessful." Ryker falls to his knees in anguish. He had been a test subject. He had seen the Immortal formula before. He had resisted it before. And they had cleared his mind. The space expedition. They must have landed on the planet with the substance. Immortalis must be Peter. That was the reason why Immortalis sent one of his friends to get him. "You have no idea the power you gave up.", says a voice. Ryker turns around to see Immortalis facing him. "We tried to join with you.", says Immortalis, "You chose a fool's path!" "No.", says Ryker, "I chose the smart path." "HAHAHA!", laughs Immortalis, "Only a fool would give up power!" He jumps towards Ryker and pins him to the ground. He puts his hand on Ryker's chest and prepares to convert him to an immortal. "Soon you will join me fully!", says Immortalis, "There is no point in resisting no-" Suddenly, Immortalis steps backwards as a magnet is placed on his back. "You!", he says. Ryker looks over to see the female scientist from the video. "Hey.", she says, "My name is Susan. I hope you remember me."
