Sometimes do you just feel like floating away? Every single moment passing faster than you can handle. All your friends being ripped out of your life. Through all of this and you just don't fit in. 

     Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a normal life. What is it like to laugh and talk with friends and not have to worry about what others may think?

    My name is Lone, and yes my name pretty much says it all. I am a shy geek who pretty much everyone knows but doesn't talk to. Now today was my first day of school. Not for everyone else though. Just me, the weird kid who everyone knows but doesn't talk to.

 Ugh. Waking up at 4:00 am is not my favorite. "Time to get up Lone", my mom says. I slide out of bed wanting to just crawl in a hole and never come out. Getting up was the hardest. Everything was the hardest. I lazily picked up the outfit my mom had left for me to wear. Today was the only day I would care about my appearance, because again, I have this tiny glimmer of hope saying "Make a first good impression and people will like you." 

  I don't even know why it matters to me, I'll probably just be moving within another year or so. While I was curling my hair I heard my mom scream "LONE HURRY YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" Oops. Three hours had passed and I was still working on my looks. I hurried and rushed down and yelled "I'M COMING!" 

  My mom insisted that I rode the bus, but why should I? I have a car after all. She says it will be a good opportunity to make "friends". I got into my car and pulled up the directions to the school on my phone. Half way there I began contemplating just skipping. 

  Oh wait I have to go or else that will probably just be spread throughout the school somehow that "The new girl skipped school".
