STONE SOUP
STONE SOUP
Day One…
The planet I live on is truly remarkable and then again truly hellifying (if there is such a word, yet). Two beautiful satellites take their places in this sky all day and night long. During the day they are but a pretty picture against a purplish haze and during the night they dominate the sky with their brilliance.
Our sun is a small reminder in the sky compared to our Moons and by itself it is brilliant. It stays in our vision for approximately one third of our cycle, and then it disappears behind our satellites and us….
Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I am Cell #42-1138 in a cell group of approximately two million, and growing. I’m an ameba and I must tell you how significant it is being an amoeba on a planet beginning life. Yeah, well, not twenty minutes ago, I split in half!! Talk about stress?? It hurts!! And what about him? Is he me; or am I him? And if I’m him, then who am I? I must be me whereas this jerk keeps pushing everyone around. Who does he think he is?? Me?? Well, I never… ok, so no one else has either, but really!
