12 Days Of Christmas Horror
Dedication
This is for my friend Evie who inspired me to write this book and share some of my thoughts and my poetry.
A Partridge In A Pear Tree
Presented all nicely and wrapped in a bow
Bird on a branch and leaves in a row
singing a song so sweet and sound
waiting to be planted into the ground
Left outside on a cold winter's night
surrounded by snow and a soft moon light
the stars all shining and twinkling above
looking down on the world spreading christmas love
with a knock and another the door opens up
the owner comes out holding hot coco in their cup
the look of surprise on their red rosey face
left them with a smile in its rightful place
They dragged it inside and closed the door
looking at the window searching for more
no note to be found or words to be said
so they went up stairs with questions in their head
But as they closed their eyes and started to dream
they were awoken with a startling scream
with a leap and a dash they rushed downstairs
tripping over the table and chairs
they looked out the window and gasped at the sight
a women in all black crying in the night
her song was as though she was a bird
but she did not utter a word
they unlocked the door and ran out to help
when they reached the women they gave a loud yelp
she was covered in blood and a single feather
shivering and crying in the cold winter weather
Before the night ended and help could arrive
the women produced an interesting surprise
a glissining knife with a handle of wood
stabbed into their chest, upright it stood
the women then vanished, no evidence of her their
the bird then took flight and into the air
then there by itself stood a single pear tree
its bow now missing and the roots running free
Two Turtle Doves
There once was a dove
Then suddenly there was two
Sitting on a tree
Then one day a girl
Who nobody knew at all
Sitting under there
She looked up the tree
To see the two birds mingling
Talking to each other
She thought they were young
But could not find their mother
So stopped with the search
The sky was darkening
The sun was setting that day
And the mum still lost
So the girl cried out
But nobody could hear her
So she stayed outside
It started to snow
But the girl stayed sat under there
Shivering at night
She stayed and sat there
And by morning she was dead
From the freezing cold
Sat there still talking
The two turtle doves stood still
Looking at the girl
