Impact of major tournaments on local economies

Whenever there’s a big football tournament in our city, you can tell—shops stay open late, food stalls pop up, and suddenly everyone’s talking about the matches. It feels like the whole place is buzzing. Do these tournaments actually help the local economy, or is it just hype?

They totally do! I read about this in an article recently - https://footballexpress.in/breaking-indias-cricket-monopoly-diversifying-sports-investment/. Big tournaments bring in more visitors, boost sales for small businesses, and even create temporary jobs. My uncle runs a snack shop and he says business is always best when there’s a match in town. Plus, hotels, transport, and merch sellers all get a piece of the action. Even if it’s just for a few days, that extra income can really make a difference.
