Missing Something In My Writing

I have been writing for only a few years and came up with a sub par poem and a a sorry and immediately trashes it
I'm at that block and need that "push" from this writing community. Anyone have any advice or ideas?

Oh man, I know that feeling perfectly. Every writer, especially in their early years, has a massive pile of stuff they immediately want to delete because it doesn't match the vision in their head. The piece wasn't a waste; it was practice. You have to write a hundred "sub-par" things to find the one that shines, and even the act of trashing it is part of the process of developing your taste. Don't worry about the draft you threw out—just take that energy and immediately put it into starting the very next one. golf hit
