Best time for a yacht trip
I’ve been thinking about doing a yacht trip in Seychelles next year, but I’m a bit stuck on timing. A friend of mine went once during a windy period and said it affected some of the sailing days, which got me slightly worried. I’m not looking for extreme luxury, just calm water, good weather, and the chance to move between islands without stress. For those who’ve actually been there, when did it feel the most comfortable to go?
It’s surprisingly easy to get the timing wrong with yacht trips, especially if you’re aiming for a calm, relaxed ride and not constant wind and waves.
We weren’t in the Seychelles this was Dubai but the concerns were pretty much the same: wind conditions, wave height, and overall comfort. Only after the trip did it really click for me that the “best months” you often see mentioned don’t always match real conditions. In reality, the wind season and people’s actual experiences seem to matter a lot more, and even a small shift in dates can change everything.
When I was preparing, I mostly saved random notes and a couple of links just to keep things organized. One of them was here not for booking anything, just as a general reference to understand when and where it usually makes sense to go.
I’d be really interested to hear how others plan these kinds of trips. Do you usually trust official recommendations, or do you rely more on reviews and personal experience?
