Puppy nutrition in the first months

Hi everyone! We recently brought home our little Labrador puppy, he’s almost two months old, and I’m a bit lost about what to feed him. We’ve had adult dogs before, and I was used to giving them regular dry food, but puppies seem to need something special. I tried mixing dry and wet food, but sometimes he refuses to eat, or he eats too quickly and then throws up a little. I’ve also read that it’s important to give vitamins and watch the calcium intake, but I’m afraid of overdoing it. I really want him to grow healthy and energetic, and I’m curious how you handled feeding during the first months of a puppy’s life.

Oh, I understand your situation! I went through the same thing when I got my mini Goldendoodle. At first, I was also worried that the puppy was eating too little or too fast, and I tried different types of food. A small guide on puppy nutrition really helped me, and I later found https://loveofpuppies.com/available-puppies/mini-goldendoodles-in-michigan/, it has not only puppies but also feeding tips. I started giving him small portions 4–5 times a day, alternating dry and soft food, and noticed he started gaining weight better and had less bloating. I also added a little chicken broth and boiled egg for variety and vitamins — the puppy really loved it.
