Historical vs modern buhurt weapons - are the fighting styles different?
Alright I have to ask, how different even are historical weapons from stuff people use today? Now I am aware that people are out there making modern improvements all the time. I thought I’d come here and ask if the fighting styles are completely different in the age we now live in. Are the fighting styles altered completely based on modern construction techniques? Is there really even a big change or am I just being crazy?
Oh visibility is absolutely crucial for any kind of competitive fighting. How it's constructed, the size and arrangement of the eye slits, and the overall shape can drastically alter your field of vision. Peripheral vision is often sacrificed for more direct protection for medieval armor, which takes time to get used to. I always recommend talking to those who do Buhurt and reading user articles before going in, such as the ones found on Medieval Extreme. Even slight adjustments can really add up.
