What should I look for when choosing an accountant?
I'm finally taking the plunge and getting some professional help with my taxes and small business accounting. I've been muddling through for years but it's honestly a huge stressor and I know I'm probably missing out on deductions. What are the key things I should be looking for in an accountant? Obviously qualifications and experience are important, but are there any other qualities or red flags I should be aware of when I start meeting with potential candidates?
It’s funny how some people just seem to have a natural knack for numbers, while others (like me!) find them completely baffling. I suppose that’s why there’s such a need for good accountants. And it's not just about knowing the rules and regulations; it’s about being able to apply that knowledge in a way that benefits their clients. I bet a lot of creative problem-solving goes on behind the scenes that we never even see.
