Community guidelines – read first

Welcome to State Library Victoria’s Tablo community! We’re here to support Victorian writers and connect you with other writers, readers, industry experts and potential publishers.

I’m Sarah, your State Library Victoria Tablo Community Manager. I’ve been working at the Library for more than three years, writing and sharing stories about our collections, resources and programs to make them more accessible online.

I’ll be looking after this community to make sure everything runs smoothly, and answer any questions. We want this to be a great community and ensure everyone has a good experience, so we've created the following guidelines that we expect all of our members to adhere to.

📚 Be respectful
We may have different points of view, but please always remain respectful of others and their opinions.

📚 Protect your privacy
This is an online public community. Post only what you’re happy saying in public and don’t give out personal information about yourself or others.

📚 Be relevant and stay on topic
This helps us get the best out of discussions. If you want to talk about something else, start a new discussion or contact socialmedia@slv.vic.gov.au

📚 Respect copyright
Only publish material that belongs to you, unless you have permission from the owner to share their work. Don’t post anything unlawful or encourage others to do so.

📚 We don’t like spam
Don’t post advertisements, requests or offers, or anything else that could be considered to have a commercial motivation.

Reply below if you have any questions about these guidelines or the community. You can also contact me directly at socialmedia@slv.vic.gov.au.

So let’s get started! Add your books, start a discussion and connect with other members. As we grow, we'll feature regular discussion topics with authors and industry experts to provide advice, motivation, writing techniques and editing tips.

Thanks, Sarah! It would be great if those guidelines applied to the online world more generally ;)
