The use of 3D scanning in the automotive industry

In everyday life, 3D scanning is widely used in auto tuning. For example, you can scan any part of the car body kit, and then modify the resulting model in the editor to give it a unique image. Tuning studio practice this technique. Contactless scanners and matting sprays are used.  Medicine, sport and health  Scanners easily recognize body geometry and do not irradiate the body through the use of structured light radiation. With their help, orthopedic corsets and prostheses are developed, helmets are designed for proper bone development using individual measurements taken from a specific patient.

3D scanning was a breakthrough in the field of plastic surgery. The contactless scanner is used to create a three-dimensional model of a healthy auricle. It creates a photopolymer copy of a healthy organ - it acts as a template in the process of surgical intervention. The method was put on stream in Edinburgh.  In Istanbul, the AVSAR Aesthetic Surgery Center for Aesthetic Surgery 3D scan is used to reconstruct the face of the patients that they will receive after the surgery. This approach allows doctors to achieve better results, and patients - to reduce the nervous tension preceding the procedure. The palpable "template" and at the same time the prototype is shown to the patient, and that, in turn, can make adjustments. The procedure for removing plaster casts sunk into oblivion. It is expected that medical institutions will peremyut practice of Turkish colleagues.

Technology has found its use in fitness. You can accurately calculate the body mass index, the percentage of fat, dry weight, the exact size of the torso, calculate the need for calories, monitor the results of training. The scanner allows you to digitize your figure. Many fitness centers already use similar equipment.

Cinema

The first film in which three-dimensional scanning was applied was “Terminator: Genesis”. A team of specialists responsible for special effects decided to use promising technology instead of traditional casts. The scanner was used to model the skull of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Thanks to a portable device, engineers managed to quickly make a natural model of a human skull, on which they made an overlay on the face of an actor. She simplified the make-up process and made it possible to achieve amazing realism of the picture in the frame.
