Chapter 1: Moving Day.

 Sarah Gates POV

Wanna know what’s funny? Most teenagers believe there mom and dads don’t love them because, they try to care. Me on the other hand. I know they cared.

Around twelve years ago, my mom and dad were both found shot dead, with bite marks all over them. They cared for me and I will never forgive the person or persons who killed them. Sadly, my parents murderer was never found.

My name is Sarah Gates, sixteen years old and still on my parents case. Even though, the court dropped the case.

Although, I’m sixteen years old I’m moving out of my grandmas place and living on my own. My grandma, aunts, and uncles, all agreed they would help me pay for bills. This summer me and my uncle built a little cabin in the woods with a two car Garage, two rooms, a kitchen with electricity and running water, a bathroom and more. I’m mainly just having to pay for my phone bill. Which my aunt Jenny is covering, water bill which my uncle Jackson is covering, and grandma G. Is giving me $20 every other month. Now that may not sound like a lot. But I’m paying for my bike, car, and insurance. I have over $20 thousand dollars in my bank.

“Sarah, sweety time to get up sweetheart,” My grandma said, she is such a nice lady.

“I’m up grandma.” I say smiling looking up at my grandma. She is 5’5.2, with long white hair. Although, she is old and short she can pack a mean punch. She is only 67 years old and still in better shape then most people her age.

“I don’t want you to leave me,” my grandma cries and I get up and hug her.

“Don’t worry grandma, I will visit you every weekend, and come over on holidays. We can even play some bingo.” I wink and giggle. My grandma’s eyes lit up like the, Fourth of July.

“You bet your butt we will.” I giggle and hug her more. “Just be careful.”

 “I will grandma.” I smile.

Five hours later, I’m already packed up, dressed, and ready to go. I told my grandma she could come over whenever she likes. All my family who is helping me out for no reason at all has a key to my cabin.

Well there is a reason. You have to be eighteen to pay for own bills. But, other then that. It doesn’t count.

Im going to miss her. But, I will be close to other family. And I’ll only be 30-40 minutes from her.

As I got in my car, I headed to my new place with the moving truck. Once I was at my place I thought I saw a wolf but, I blinked and it was gone.

That’s strange, I swear I saw a wolf. I must be going crazy. I get out of my car and start unloading things with the help of my uncle and aunts.

“We are so proud of you Sarah.” My uncle says and hugs me once we are done unloading the truck and unpacking.

I hug back, “Thank you all for everything.” My Aunt’s smiled and joined us in a big bear hug.

“We’re going to leave now. Be sure to not have any boyfriends or your dad will rise from his grave, and kick there butts.” My uncle says and I laugh.

It’s a sad topic but we try to think of good things to say to cheer each other up.

“Love y’all, thank you for everything.” As they leave I turn to my car and put it in the garage. I sit on the porch to my cabin and look around.

Me and my uncle cleared out a lot of trees so I could have room to get things and have fun. I forgot I even had a in ground pool in the back.

I hope school isn’t as bad as I think it will be.

Chapter 2: The Diner

I headed inside and grabbed my purse and keys locking my door and headed to my garage. I opened my garage door leading to my motorcycle and got on putting on a helmet.

As I took, my bike out of my garage. I saw bright yellow eyes and I saw a baby wolf I put my kickstand down and took my helmet off. Going to check on the wolf.

It was whimpering. “Don’t worry little guy. I won’t hurt you.” I got down on my knees.

Reaching my hand out to the wolf. It started limping towards me and I picked the baby wolf up.

“Don’t worry, I will fix your paw. I carried the wolf to my backpack and I set it down.

Taking a vet box out of my backpack. I wrapped the little wolfs paw up. “There you go. Here you go a treat.”

I hand the wolf a piece of beef jerky. It happily took a piece and I saw a bigger wolf come out of the woods.

I set the baby wolf on the ground and it heads to its mom or dad. I smile happy it got to be reunited with its family. I then set a few pieces of beef jerky on a plate that’s on my porch.

I then head back to my bike putting my helmet on. I drive off once the wolves leave.

I head to the high school my uncle enrolled me in to get a quick tour seeing as it is 3:30 p.m. so school should be out. I park my bike in the deserted lot. I lock my bike up. Going inside.

“Schools out of your here for a club. There’s no clubs opened today,” a middle aged woman said as I walked through the door. She was playing on her phone.

“Actually, Im new here and was wandering if I could get my locker, schedule, parking spot number if there is any, along with a quick tour of the school.” The lady looked up like she seen a ghost.

“Someone, finally needs me? To help them?” She started awing and I giggled.

“Yes ma’am,” I smiled.

“I’m so sorry, about my first impression.”

“Don’t worry about it.” I smiled.

“I’m Abigial Stone. You can call me Ms. Stone, I’m the schools Secutary and Councilor. If you ever need any help come talk to me. What is your name sweetheart?”

“I’m Sarah Gates, and I sure will Ms. Stone.” She started looking through some folders.

“AHA! Here it is. Sarah Gates, sixteen years old. Your lunch number will be 78929, come fallow me.”

Ms. Gates, got up and showed me to all my classes, my locker and where I could sit for lunch.

“Thank you so much for giving me a tour of the school.”

“No problem, remember if you need anything come talk to me.” I smiled brightly and waved walking away.

I put my papers in my backpack and headed to my bike. Once I put my helmet on. I saw the name of the school, Graceland High.

I started up my bike and left the school. Driving around the town.

“YO HOT STUFF WHY DONT YOU GIVE ME A RIDE TO YO HOUSE.” Some dude said. I ignored them not knowing if they were talking to me but, I doubt they were.

I saw a old diner that was still in business and parked my bike. I walked inside taking my helmet off.

“Hello Deary, what would you like?”

“I was wandering if you were by any chance hiring.” The lady jaw dropped.

“You want to work at an old run down diner?”

“Well, yeah it seems like fun.” She hugged me tightly.

“HONEY!!! WE GOT A NEW WORKER!” The lady yelled, she looked to be in her mid 30’s with wavy brown hair and hazel eyes.

A man walked out, he was buff. Looked to be around his 40’s with black hair and blue eyes.

“Wow, someone wants to work here with us?” He said and was shocked. Okay, is what I’m doing a problem?

“I hope it’s not a problem.” I said, and he shook his head no.

“It’s no problem at all. We needed some new workers or worker. To help us around.”

“When can you start deary?” The lady asked.

“Anytime you want me too. I do have school. But I can work from 3:20 p.m. to however long y’all need me and on then weekends I can work double time.” I said and they nodded.

“Saturdays and sundays we are at our most busiest.” The woman was smiling happily.

“Did you forget to indrouce yourself Anna?”

“YOUR RIGHT! I’m so sorry dear, my name is Anna Hudge. This is my husband Mark Hudge.”

“Nice to meet you Mrs. Hudge. I’m Sarah Gates.”

“The towns newbie. There’s a lot of talk going around town that a someone new was coming into town.”

“Where do you live?”

“In a cabin, inside the woods. Me and my uncle made it.”

“Really?”

“Yes.” The couple was jaw dropped.

“Be careful, their are a lot of wolves.”

“I can tell a little wolf pup was hurt earlier today so I helped it.”

“So your a helper, good with animals, and completely nice. Is there anything you can’t do?”

“Besides whistling?” I joke and we laughed. We talked for a few hours before I headed home. I start work first thing after school tomorrow.

Once I got home I saw the plate of beef jerky was gone and I laughed. Well at least it wasn’t made of glass.
