There was once an elephant that didn’t want to share his water. So he fought everyone who came near it. He always won because he was the strongest of them all. 

But, one time he fell into a deep sleep and all the elephants came to his water to drink and when the strongest elephant woke up his water was all dried up.

 No elephant was in sight so he got very angry and made all the animals near him his slaves. He told them to find the elephants that took his water and bring them to him.

They obeyed and went to find them. Once they got to all the elephants, the animals saw that they were happy and realized that they had never seen that before. All the animals took the sides of all the elephants and said that the strongest elephant told them to find you and bring you to him. All the elephants weren’t too scared because there were thousands of them and one of him. The animals said that the strongest elephant was really mad and could kill all of you if he wanted. The elephants still didn’t believe the animals but they listened to them anyway. The animals said to go as far as you can from here and you will be safe. They said that they will tell him that your tracks are going the other way. And then they dispersed. 

When the animals got back to the strongest elephant, he asked them if they saw anything. The animals said yes and pointed to the opposite direction that the elephants went. So the strongest elephant started on his way to find all the elephants that took his water. 

The animals didn’t go with him and he didn’t even notice. He didn’t care if they died or not. The animals started the way that the elephants started. 

A week from then the animals and the elephants found another pond of water that was bigger than the strongest elephant’s water. That pond of water could last them their whole lifespan.

Meanwhile, the strongest elephant knew now that the animals tricked him and he laid down and died.

 The moral of the story is that you should share even though it might not last long, you can always find a better plan.
