Chapter 1

Alarm sirens: a must?

An effective and reliable device to protect against burglaries and dangers, the alarm system is composed of certain essential elements that enable it to properly fulfill its deterrent and preventive role. Among them, the radio transmitter and receiver alarm system is essential. The best-known model is the horn or alarm siren. During an intrusion, this device sends a sound wave up to more than 100 decibels to deter and destabilize burglars or intruders. Installed outdoors or indoors, the horn warns the neighborhood in the event of an anomaly. However, it requires a good configuration to avoid untimely alarms likely to disturb the peace of his entourage.

GSM transmission: high technology for security

To reinforce the security of goods and people, the telephone transmitter is another alternative. It is an alarm alarm device coupled to the alarm center to alert owners and other recipients via phone calls or messages. This distinguishes between the PSTN transmitter and the GSM transmitter. The first uses a fixed telephone line to communicate alerts, thus unusable in the event of the latter being cut off. The GSM transmitter uses a SIM card and allows direct communication via the smart phones of the occupants, remote surveillance agents or the police.

Original warnings

The alarm siren can be coupled with a visual alarm for increased security and easy site location. This is a flash system built into the horn housing to visually disorient the intruder. The device is in the form of a stroboscope that emits flashes at regular intervals until the alarm is deactivated. Other more original alarms are also available on the market such as the voice message radio frequency transmitter and the irritant gas emanator. They are installed inside the site to protect to surprise and scare away burglars and intruders.
