For my mother, Betty, who I miss every day, and had the best man advice in the world, despite her obvious winces at knowing what I was getting up to. She was nothing short of an inspiration and the epitome of determination to live the best life possible despite everything. Betty was one of the strongest women I have ever met and I am honoured she chose to be my mother. You have my heart, mum, every single day. Life is unfair and if sheer will could have gotten you through you would have lived to 150. I miss you with every breath.

For Janine, I hope you and mum are dancing on tables wherever you are. For Sue, who has the most special place in my heart; I am so honoured that you have opened your life and family to me with such warmth and love. For Robyn, who has been a true friend in every sense of the word. Rob, you have no idea how important you are to me.

And for Rhonda, who stood up to be counted when it wasn’t her responsibility, but did it anyway and changed my life. At a party after watching her partner trip over, Rhonda also coined the phrase: “Just how I like my men – on their backs with their legs in the air”. All awesome, brilliant women. Thank you for being you.

Row Murray was born in Melbourne, Victoria, brought up in pubs, hotels and motels around Australia and lived in chilly Ballarat throughout high school. She studied marketing at Swinburne, has undertaken graduate studies in finance and economics, and has worked as a public relations professional, copywriter, marketing manager and digital marketing manager for some of Australia’s biggest retail brands.

She has guest lectured at Swinburne University, Deakin University, Monash University, RMIT University and Victorian University of Technology and is a frequent public speaker on the topic of Social Media.

Row’s varied PR career has seen her write crisis communications strategies for a range of clients from the Victorian Drug Court and the Victorian State Government through to FMCG brands. She has served on boards (including holding the presidency of the Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce) and has volunteered for pet rescue organisations and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

She writes for Siren Empire and Lipstick & Gearsticks – a motoring blog for women – because she’s a rev head, really wants to have a go in a Bugatti Veyron, and loves her motorbike very much. She's also completely obsessed with music.
