Chapter 1

She came out of the night

On a warm summer breeze

Shedding rose petals with each

Slow sultry step

With a crook of her finger

She beckoned us near

Slowly we approached

Walking hand in hand

She smiled and laughed

You laughed along

I flinched from the sound

Together you and she pulled me near

She leaned in close

Warm breath on my skin

Don’t turn away

Don’t hang your head in shame

Dance with me

Where love is found

Also find grace

Her whispered words lightened my heart

She helped me to feel free

We found a rhythm that swayed our bodies

Each in time with each

We danced through the night

Sharing a thousand gentle touches

To soothe the soul

Bodies entwined and heated by passion

We found solace in flesh

Companionship in a touch

Don’t turn away

Don’t hang your head in shame

Dance with me

Where love is found

Also find grace

The morning sun came

Fingers of light touching the land

She rose from our bed

We both reached out

Pleading for her to stay

With a sad shake of her head

She put your hand in mine

Then turned and walked away

Don’t turn away

Don’t hang your head in shame

Dance with me

Where love is found

Also find grace
