Chapter 1

Asaite and Sherva, guns in hand lowered to the floor, stood staring at the end of a pistol, shocked and horrified by the truth. All they have tried to eliminate stood straight in front of them now, all their dreams of freedom and making the world a better place had come to an end.

The room in which they stood was very cold, almost resembling a mortuary, the finely polished wooden table still fresh from renovation stood majestically at the centre. There were only two antique chairs, it was only meant for two people.

This room sat on the tallest building, looking below at the world like an eagle ready to pounce on its prey. One of the walls were fitted with many widescreen HD Televisions. Two fourth of the wall was covered in bullet proof glass windows, the other wall contained the finest wines in the world. The floor was covered in blood.

The man holding the pistol was well known to both, he stood their staring at them, partly sorry and partly glad that his trap had worked perfectly to his plan. All he had to do was shoot the two of them and walk away from there to a fitting retirement to the countryside.

Watching all this stood another man behind the curtains that hung neatly to one of the two doors to the room. His body was well hid and his face was not clear, he stood in the dark, he smiled expecting the end, it wasn’t the glad that everything is over smile, it was more a mischievous smile that runs shivers down the spine of those who were unfortunate to see it.

The tree-house

A bright light forced itself through his eye lids, the sun was up and awake, he was letting everyone know of it. Almost a perfect night of sleep could be ruined in matter of seconds. Asaite’s night was no different. Like in any other nightmare, he woke with the sun shining bright on his face, covered in sweat, his heart beating out of his chest, the usual complete confusion and to add to this a woman slept beside with her back to him.

He felt like he had just lived an entire life in his dream or perhaps this was a dream, a nice dream from his usual weird life, he was not awake but slipping into a world of wonder. He had lost touch of dreams and reality a long time ago and he had long given up trying to figure out things.

As he began to recollect what had just been in his thoughts, dream or the reality, he began to wonder quickly through his thoughts as if he was just flipping through a book that he had revised a thousand times. He paused when he wanted to take a closer look and sped through all the not so important times.

A face kept appearing, though he remembered nothing of it but he could see that he had loved her a lot and that she too loved him deeply. He could not quite catch her name or what was spoken but he wished that the lady next to him now, sleeping sound asleep was her.

He got of the bed to see her face, walking around the cot, he could not remember how she had ended up here. He gently pulled the blanket of her face, not sure what to expect, was it the same woman?  Or is it someone else?  If she was someone else then how are they connected?.

As questions began to pour in, he looked at her beautiful face. The most gorgeous person he had ever seen. But she was not the same person from his dream.

He moved slowly to his window and opened the screen to let some fresh air clear his head. Outside stood a world, city covered in forest, with colourful bird’s already awake and taking wings. He leaned a little outside the window to see where he was. A long trunk of a tree in which his house stood stretched towards the Earth.
