I have been writing rhyming verse for most of my life. Many of my poems have been published in the NSW School Magazine. A few of my short stories have also been published in magazines.
In 2014 Walker Books Australia published a collection of my poetry for children, "'The Billy That Died With Its Boots On' and Other Australian Verse". In 2015, the book won a Golden Gumleaf for "Book of the Year" at the Australian Bush Laureate Awards, during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
I love the poetry of C. J. Dennis, and am President of the C. J. Dennis Society.
In recent years, I have been performing at festivals with musician and songwriter Maggie Somerville.
