They are different from firemen

Typical books talk about different professions, and it gives kids the idea of what people can do with their lives career-wise. This is great because some books have information on what certain professionals do. An example is that some kids’ books talk about how doctors heal injured patients, or how engineers help repair buildings and make plans for buildings. The truth is that both agencies should work together. They are actually similar to how police work together with security agencies. They do report and make sure that a place is secure and safe. However, if anything happens, like if a fire breaks out, they do not put out the fire. Just like how security guards cannot just arrest criminals like how police can.

They conduct thorough rounds

If you have read about firemen or maybe had a brochure about firemen, then you will notice that they are there for extinguishing fires, and prevention of any type of fire. However, there are only little firemen, and they cannot watch and secure multiple buildings as easily. One thing that they don’t do usually is to conduct rounds. Some just ensure that the equipment is safe, but they don’t make proper rounds that completely ensure safety and remove any issues with the establishment. A security guard for a fire watch usually does 15-minute increment rounds. All rounds are then logged on a record. This log details the address, the start of the round, and who did the round. It also has any details if the watch contacted personnel and any conversation that they had.

Alarm malfunctions cause several problems

Though we usually hear about things that cause fire such as faulty wiring, we rarely hear about how alarm malfunctions might be the root of all these things. Nowadays, regulations are quite strict when it comes to alarms. There should always be an early warning device especially for buildings. The problem is that there are some times when a faulty alarm system hasn’t been fixed for months, and there is an event that runs a high risk of fire.  The security guard fire watch is tasked to do their job because the alarm doesn’t work. These guards also have a warning device, which makes them act as manual alarms in case any fire breaks loose.
