This poetry book is dedicated to Jesus Christ, and all those who go through life's liveliest and deadliest days. 

Water and blood represent two things in any given context: Life or lack of life. During my time writing this book, I have experienced both. I have experienced life in terms of welcoming new Canadians, walking through the Christmas/New Year's season, and reflecting on God. I have also experienced death in terms of depression, cutting my skin to relieve the pain of real life, and feeling very isolated and very alone in this world.

Water and blood has meaning for me, and meaning for Jesus Christ.  In 1John 5:6-8, John describes the testimony of Jesus:

    This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who     testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 

Jesus came by water and blood, and He went through both of their meanings. He lived through water, blood, and the Spirit, and He died and His life blood and life water was poured out. For me this shows even in the darkest of times, Jesus is still around every corner and breathes on every aspect of my life.
