Sparks [Poem collection #3]
Any Longer
I sit alone
In an iron temple
Waiting for
The bright one
To open the door
And release me
From this terrible place.
But I don't
Want to wait
Any longer.
I run alone
In an iron temple
Looking for an escape
But I know
I cannot leave here
Until the time
Is right.
But I don't
Want to wait
Any longer.
I stand alone
In an iron temple
Gazing out the
Barred window
Longing for the day
I am released
From this place.
But I don't
Want to wait
Any longer.
Flames
The Pharisees at their altars
Dragged the creeds away
Where words drip with sinful power
And sparks never become flames
Shatter the old ways
And fight back the sway
Break in, the ashes gleam
And it's all ablaze.
Wonderland
I've fell into wonderland
And I can't find my way out--
The rabbit hole was a trick
A carefully crafted lie.
I wander here alone
Among the madness--
But I'm mad too
Or I wouldn't have come here.
I've fell into wonderland
A mind game of cards
With the queen of hearts
A carefully crafted scheme
I should have been careful
What I wished for
Now I'm trapped in this world
Where nothing makes sense
I've fell into wonderland
And I want to wake up.
