TV mounting in a new apartment

I just moved into a new apartment in Tampa and I’m trying to get everything set up before I completely lose patience with unpacking boxes. One of the things I want to do first is mount my TV on the wall because the stand takes up way too much space in the room. The problem is that I’m not sure what kind of studs or structure are behind the wall, and I definitely don’t want to start drilling random holes to find out. The TV is fairly expensive, so I’m more concerned about doing it safely than saving a few dollars. For anyone who has recently had a TV mounted in an apartment, did you hire someone? I’d also like to know whether professional installers can figure out what’s behind the wall and recommend the right type of mounting hardware

Thank you! That makes sense. I definitely don’t want my first attempt at decorating the new apartment to end with a giant hole in the wall and a TV on the floor.
