Chapter 1

London 1700

Horses hooves clattered against the road as they elegantly trotted past, tack shining in the sun.. Cartwheels creaked and cracked as they turned. People hustled and bustled along the pavements, ignoring the only house on the corner with its curtains and shutters locked tightly shut, to be opened only at night. Two figures laid in front of the fire, bite marks scattered over their pale flesh and tangled in each other's embrace. A woman bound and gagged watched in the corner.

"Can I kill her yet?" The brunette asked ripping her skin from her lover's flesh.

"Not yet, she is to share," he said looking up at her. "I have something better for you later," he said and sunk his teeth into her collar bone running his tongue over it. She giggled and pulled him closer snaking her fingers into his thick, long black hair.

"Just think when we have our own army we can feed as much as we want," Tanith said.

"Let the newborns do the work for us," he said.

"Aw, where's the fun in the chase and the kill?" she pined.

"Fine, we'll both hunt together," he chuckled, pushed her down onto the rug, and covered their shoulders with the blanket. The flames roared ferociously in the fireplace. He dragged the bound and gagged girl over to Tanith, who wrapped the blanket around her body and attacked the girl like a rabid dog. "Don't forget to save some for me love." He sat and watched Tanith feed. "I didn't realize how hungry you were." She paused and locked her yellow eyes with his.

"You, my love built my appetite," she said and bit back down into the girls flesh who had stopped whining and fighting her off. Renwick let out a growl and joined in on the fun gripping the girls wrist in his hands. The girls heartbeat slowed, she fell limp in their arms and grew cold.

"She's expired," Tanish pined and pushed the girl away.

"So she has," he replied and pushed the girl away too. He picked up the bell off the table and rang it softly. Two servants rushed in and between them, they picked her up, they left the room silently and slammed the door behind them.

"You're such a messy eater!" Tanith exclaimed and wiped the blood from his lips. She sucked it off her fingers.

"You're not any better," he said and licked the blood from her lips. She giggled and pecked his lips.

"I can't wait to go out into the cool breeze tonight," she smiled.

"I know how you love the cold," he replied standing and peeked out of the curtains avoiding the tiny rays of that dared to shine through, into the dim drawing-room. "Not long now." She stalked over her long hair providing modesty and dragged her clawed nails down his back.

"Will I get my surprise then?" she asked and bit lightly into the flesh of his shoulder.

"Of course, my dear you will and I know you will love it," he buried his fingers into her hair massaging her scalp. He pushed her head harder into the wound, she purred under his grip.

"There's my kitten," he said softly, "now you must go get some clothes on I don't want to share that view with the servants."

"Do I have to? I feel so free," Tanith said and danced around the room.

"I know love, but you must. You have so many nice dresses to choose from," he said as he dropped the curtain and turned to her, he held her still and stroked his finger over the flesh of her cheek. "There's a good girl," he pushed her out of the room leaving Renwick in silence. He too retired to his chambers, clothes already laid out on his bed.

"Does sir need assistance?" one of the servants asked slowing approaching him.

"No," he shook his head, "you're dismissed." As soon as the door shut he dressed himself and finished off the letters, that should have been sent a few days ago. But he had been distracted by Tanith, she always took up most of his time. If it wasn't hunger it was lust and he always happily obliged. A few moments later and he visited Taniths room, she sat at her dressing table. Black lace fan in hand and red ruby drop earrings hung from her ears. A red and black laced spider web choker sat high on her neck.

It covered the scar of when her sire gave her a second chance. "I see you're wearing the dress I bought all the way from Paris for you," he said walking over to her, "elegant as always," he whispered into her ear.

"Just the way you made me," she giggled and licked the side of his face.

"Shall we, my love," he said and offered her his arm. She smiled and wrapped her arm around his like a snake.

"Is the carriage ready?" she asked.

"It is indeed. With six black horses as requested," he told her. She was giddy as she saw the sight before her. "Only the best for you," he said and rushed over to open the door for her.

"You spoil me too much," she smiled.

"No I don't, but you do deserve nice things," he said and helped her to climb in.

"Where are we headed?" she asked as he climbed in next to her.

"To your surprise," he said. The driver gave the horses a gentle tap on the rump and the horses started off at a trot, but as they joined the road they transitioned into a smooth canter. They were headed out of the town, and to a great manor house on the hill on the outskirts of the dirty city. The horse journey ended as they trotted around a gravel drive with a fountain in the middle.

Renwick climbed out first. He offered his hand and helped Tanith to climb out of the carriage. "Wow!" Her eyes roamed over the tall building and her ears pricked up to the sound of music, which played deep within the belly of the house. "My surprise is here?"

"Inside," he said and led her into the building. For their sensitive eyes, it was a little bright, but it wasn't too much of a hindrance. They took a flute of blood as they entered and ascended the stairs. But paused outside a mahogany door, Renwick took a blindfold out from his jacket and covered Taniths eyes.

"What's this?" she chuckled.

"I don't want you peeking," he said and opened the door, leading Tanith behind him. "What do you smell?" He stood Tanith in front of him.

"Fear and strawberries," she said and licked her lips.

"Anything else?" he inquired.

"Youth!" she exclaimed excitedly. He removed the blindfold from her eyes and she gasped at the sight. "Is he all mine?"

"Yes," Renwick replied head held high. She rushed over to the young noble boy.

"Where did you find such beauty?" she asked.

"From a local Baron. He told me his son threatened his very existence and so sold him to me. But it's been too long since you've had such rich blood," he said.

"P...Please, sir...I did nothing wrong," he begged.

"Shush little baby," she said and knelt before him and gently held his head in her hands. Renwick shut the door, locking it behind him and collapsed down into a chair behind Tanith and the boy his eyes locked on the scene unfolding in front of him. She kissed the boy and bit his tongue off. Gurgled screams escaped him as she spat the tongue out onto the floor, her own swam around his mouth like an eel. She paused and looked back at Tanith, pulling her tongue out of the boys bleeding mouth.

"We should dine like this more often," she giggled and bit into the boy's soft flesh.

"Anything you wish love," he said as he sat back and lit his pipe continuing to watch her feed.
