Katy and her big brother Dan had a great relationship. But then something tragic happens but she doesn't know what. she was only 7 at the time and her parents won't tell her what happened and that he would be back soon. It has now been 10 years and Katy has a great life good friends, she is smart, she is absolutely gorgeous and has every boy on there knees for her. She acts like a perfect girl on the outside but on the inside she has this big hole that hasn't been resolved. Then her brother returns all of a sudden and her life gets flipped upside down. Everyone around her is acting different and giving her pity about her brother and how they feel sorry for her. Also does she feel safe where she is? Follow Katy as she tries to figure what is going on with everybody. Also as she tries to figure out where her brother has been all these years???

Katy's POV

My alarm just went off and I am exhausted, I was up all last night thinking about what to do for my 17th Birthday when I fell asleep. Wait it's my birthday..........

'' yayyyyyyyy'' i accidently shouted.

'' what's wrong Katy'' my parents shouted as they ran into my room.

'' ohhh nothhing i just realised it was my birthday, yay im 17.'' I scream whispered because it was like 6:30 in the morning.

'' oh okay, anway HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY, i can't belive that my baby is 17.'' My mum literally shouted.

Ugh i really hate when she calls me her baby beccause i am obveolsy not a baby so why does she call me one.

'' ugh mom how many times do i have to tell you im not a baby anymore im 17 now.''

'' well it doesnt matter what you think, you'll always be my baby.'' My mum said

'' okay, well Katy why don't you get ready for school and me and your mum will go and mke you your favorite breakfeast okay'' my dad kindly said.

'' Thanks mom and dad see you i a minute.'' I said in a sweet voice.

So once my parents left i went into my walk in closet and and spent about 5 minutes just looking for my outfit. I finally decided on my purple crop top with my name written on it and my skinny jeans with my a pair of my converses. Then went over to my make up desk and and put on minimal make up because im not really a fan of make up and think that i am naturally beautiful and don't need that much make up.

So after that i made my way down the stairs into the kitchen were i saw my mum and dad puting my pancakes on to the plate with my bacon and sausages. I thanked them for it and started to eat it. It was delicious, but then i looked at the time and realised that it was 7:50 and that i had 10 minutes to get to school. So i thanked my parents for this morning and made my way into the garage where my white farari was, i got it for my 16th birthday at my sweet sixteen.

I got to school with 3 minutes to spare. When i got out my car i saw my best friend Ashley on her phone, probably on instagram. I walked up next to her and waited for her to realise. Once she did she screamed

'' OH MY GOSH katy you scared. Anyways HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE how does it feel to be 17.'' She practically screamed.

'' it feels amazing and what makes it better is that its friday so that means that is a half day yay.'' I said a bit too exitedly. ''oh yeah my parents are having this big get togather at 2 and i thought you could come home with me and we could get ready togather. Sound cool.''

'' awesome i'll see you at free period and we can leave right after that, see ya babe'' Ashley said.

'' alright see ya.'' I said.

FREE PERIOD

so as i was standing in the hall waiting for Ashley i see james approching me and i just huff in annoyence becuse just like all the other boys in our year he has a crush on me but james was diffrennt he has asked me out but 18 times and this would probally be the 19th time.

'' Hey babe'' he says in the most cheesy voice that i can't stand.

'' first of all my name is not babe my name is katy and second of all what are you doing here.'' I say annoyed

'' well 'KATY' im here because i go to school here.'' He says now laughing.

'' haha very funny now really though why are you talking to me.'' I say seriously.

'' well one of my sources told me it was your birthday so happy birthday babe. '' he says with a big grin on his face.

'' well thanks, you can leve now im waiting for my friend and i would like to be alone until she gets here.''

'' hold on i don't think so, why would a pretty girl like you want to be all alone, so i think ill just stay here with you until that friend of yours shows up.'' He then says in a really annoying voice.

Just as i was about to answer i got a text from Ashley to meet her in the car park becasue she had gym so it made sense for her to meet me out there instead of the hall.

''Well as much as i want to stay i have to be going'' i say starting to walk away when James runs up to me.

''Where you going i thought you were waiting for a friend.''

''Well my friend texted me to meet her in the parking lot so if you don't mind i have to be going, or i'll be late.''

'' okay well see ya on monday babe.'' He says with a grin as i walk away in disgust.

So i made my way upstairs and saw Ashley standing by my car.

'' hey gurrllll you ready to get your party on'' she shouts

'' yeah now lets get to my house.'' I say as we hop into the car.

So once we got home and said our hellos to my parents we rushed upstairs to get ready since we only had an hour and half. First we had showers then hit the walk in wardrobe looking for something to where. First we got a long flowing purple dress for ashley to where. Then started to lok for something for me to where when i saw a bag in the back of the wardrobe. So i picked it up and opened it, it was a short, tight red dress with matching red heels. So i decided to put it on and i looked absloutley gorgeous. So then me moved on to hair and makeup. My hair was curled into tight ringlets and my make up wasnt really anything big just my usaual. I had 30 minutes till people would start arriving and it was just me and ashley in the house because my parents went on a quick errand probably to the shops im not to sure. But then the door bell rang snapping me out of my thoughts.

I went to call Ashley but realised she was in the bathroom, so i had to go and get the door. I hoped of my bean bag and went to go see who was at the door. I shouted who is it but there was no reply so i just opened the door.......

''Dan'' i say in shock.

Recap of last chapter.......

I went to call Ashley but realized she was in the bathroom, so i had to go and get the door. I hoped of my bean bag and went to go see who was at the door. I shouted who is it but there was no reply so i just opened the door.......

''Dan'' i say in shock.

Katy's POV

"Dan" i repeat with my mouth wide open

"Hi Katy" he said with mixed emotions

"Dan what are you doing here and where have you been all this time." I say still really surprised that he was actually here.

Just as he was about to answer i hear Ashley coming down stairs

"Hey Katy who's at the door " she says as she walks up to meet me at the door

"Oh hey Ash, you okay."

"Yeah i'm fine but i'm not to sure that you are, you look a bit pale" she says looking at me worriedly.

"Oh yeah i'm fine" i say with a fake smile

"So who's this" she says pointing to Dan

"Oh this is..." i was saying before i got cut off

"I'm Dan Katy's older brother" he says with a friendly smile even though he looked quite nervous

"Oh hi i'm Ashley Katy's best friend." She says with a welcoming smile then turns to me and whispers "you never told me you had an older brother."

"Oh i guess i forgot to mention it" i say but i didn't forget i just didn't tell her because i never thought that i would ever see Dan again so what was the worth mentioning it.

So after that we are just stood in the door for a minute of silence before Dan spoke up

"So........ are you going to let me in or what" he says with a slight smirk on his face.

"Oh yeah come in sorry" i say laughing a little as i move out of the way and open the door a bit more to let him pass.

Once we are all inside, i walk us into the back garden to where the party was going to be because i had to finish the last of the decorations.

"Well first of all wow and second of all happy birthday Katy i can't believe your 17" Dan says with a shocked face.

"Whats with the shocked face your acting like you haven't seen a back garden before." I say

"Well i have but before i left we lived in a little 3 bed house and now you live in some sort of mansion that has a back yard the size of 5 football pitches." He says and that's when i remember that about a year after Dan left dad got a major pay rise and we all moved to London and got this huge house.

"Oh yeah i forgot dad got a huge pay rise a year after you left and we moved down here and got this house"

"Hey guys sorry to interrupt but Katy where are the balloons i need to start blowing them up" Ashley says

"Oh right there on the desk in my room." I say with a little giggle for no reason

So then Ashley makes her way upstairs leaving me and Dan alone.

"So Katy were are mum and dad" he says sounding a bit different.

"Oh they just went to the shop they should be here pretty soon" i say just as here the front door open.

"Hey Katy, ashley were back were are you" here my mum shout from the foyer.

"Oh were in the back yard and ashley is up stairs blowing up the balloons." I shout back

"Oh okay wait who is we" she says as she walks into the back garden.

Mums mouth was wide open and dad was red and looked really angry.

So ask "whats wrong with you guys"

"Well what is he doing here" he says as he points to dan angrily,

"Oh Dan he just came why." I asked a bit confused

"N-nothing" my mum says nervously

"Hey Kate why don't you go and see if ashley needs a hand while we talk to dan okay" dad says a bit more calmly then before.

"Okay dad" i then sigh

So i start to walk away and then that's when it got me thinking why where they so surprised to see dan. Well i can understand mums reaction because she had the same reaction as me, but i don't get dad's reaction he looked so angry but i'm not sure why. I mean why would you be angry about seeing your son after ten years wouldn't you be happy. Maybe i'm just over reacting he could of been angry because he hasn't seen dan in along time and was angry that he didn't come back until now.

I go up to my room and see ashley sitting at my desk red as a tomato blowing up a balloon. My room had balloons everywhere.

"Hey ashley you need some help" i say cheerfully

"Nah i'm good that was my last one, but we could talk about that brother of yours." She says with a smile.

" okay what would you like to know" i say

"Well what's going on, you have never mentioned him before and i'm you best friend" she says curiously

"okay well me and dan used to have a great relationship but then when i was around 7 and he was like 16 he left and i haven't seen him since until today that is why i was so surprised when he showed up today." I say as i breath for air.

"So where has he been all these years" Ashley asks seeming really interested.

"I don't know the last time i remember him with us he has at that annual family reunion we have every year and he drinking out side with my cousins back when we lived in Idaho and that's all i remember." I say

"So Kate why didn't you tell me any of this?"

"Well i would have told you but it didn't make much sense in telling you because i never thought i would see him again so i just decided that it doesn't matter if you knew because i didn't think you would ever meet him."

"Well Katy you know you can tell me anything and that i will always be there for u. Just don't worry about it maybe he just wanted some time himself didn't know where you lived until now" ashley said really sweetly.

*knock knock*

"Come in" i say

The door opens and i see Dan walk in

"Hey Katy, so i'm gonna be staying here for a while is that okay with you" he says nervously

"Sure that's okay you are my brother and i love you, why wouldn't it be." I ask sort of confused

"No reason just seeing if you would mind, oh and mum said that you and Ashley should come down stairs because people will be arriving in a couple minutes" he says sounding good again

"Okay then lets get this show on the road" i say with a big smile on my face as we walk out of my room.
