One with powers of Air,

One as strong as the wind,

One with bravery like the endless sky,

Will come to answer his call, 

On Mountain Top.

A king rules above all else, with dragons at his command,

In the darkest rock, he revives her, 

the one who can destroy all in her path.

Climb the highest peak,

Stand-alone and fight,

But only the one who listens,

will find why they were called,

On Mountain Top. 

Sky walked down the hall of the palace with Peter right beside her. As they neared the doors to the throne room, Peter looked over at Sky and said,

“ Don't worry Sky, it's going to be alright. Not all the queen's urgent requests are bad.” Sky gave a long sigh before stopping and saying,

“ Peter, the last time, the queen said that it was extremely urgent, my father who so happened to be a dark, rain cloud tried to kidnap, my friends, and brother, and threw them down to their death,” Peter replied,

“ Riiight… but you were there to save them, plus, your dad is fine now, just trust me, it's not going to be as big of an emergency as you think.” With that, they walked up to the doors and pushed them open before walking forwards towards the queen who wore a bright red and gold floral design on it, with a gold crown on her head which was studded with red rubies. Sky and Peter bent down on one knee as Sky said,

“ Your majesty, you called us.” The queen said,

“ Yes… you may rise…” So Sky and Peter did, as the queen continued saying,

“ I have called you here because I have reason to believe that we are to start another war with someone from our past who I believe I mentioned before.” Peter and Sky looked at each other before the queen added,

“ I believe that the King of the Sky Dragons… is back.” Sky's eyes went wide before she looked at Peter with a disapproving expression. Peter gave an awkward smile before saying,

“ What? How was I supposed to know that some evil Sky dragon King was back?” Sky looked back at the queen and asked,

“ How would you like us to approach this situation?” The queen replied with a stern voice,

“ Get your friends, and I want both of you to lead the stealth mission.” Sky gave a single nod of understanding before saying,

“ As you wish.” With that, she turned around and started walking out of the throne room with Peter close behind her. Once they were out in the hall again, Peter exclaimed,

“ Sky, we can't just leave Felix here all by himself? What if something happens while we are gone?” Sky replied,

“ We can send him to my parent's house, it's away from the Sky Kingdom, and plus he hasn't seen my parent's in a while, so it will be a good bonding time.” Peter gave a long sigh before saying,

“ Alright, we can then pick up your friends too.” Sky nodded saying,

“ Yes, and if the queen is right about the King of the Sky Dragons being back, trust me… he is going to wish he never ruled in the first place.” 

Suddenly, a boy with brownish-red hair, woke up to the sound of his mom's voice saying,

“ Felix, we're almost there.” Felix's eyes gently fluttered open till he sat up straight stretching his arms. Felix wore a red short-sleeved shirt with long black pants and tennis shoes on his feet. Then he looked down below and saw buildings with small figures of people down below while Felix and his parents sat on a bright red-scaled dragon with four large wings and scattered blue scales, that flew them above the city. The orange early morning sun, reflected on the windows of the city making it sparkle with different colors of gemstones. He then smiled brightly as he turned his head and looked behind him at his mom, who had bright red hair and wore a black ninja outfit with red lining. Although she had her hood off so her face was exposed. Felix then said,

“ Oh, wow we're really high up. How long will you be away again?” Felix's father who was in front, flying the dragon said,

“ We will be gone for at least two-three days, but if the queen wants us to investigate further then maybe longer.” 

“ But don't worry, we promise to make it as quick as possible. The longest you'll be here will probably be a week, but just have fun and be good, okay?” replied Felix's mother, quickly. Felix smiled and said,

“ Okay, mom.” With that, they continued to fly off into the city. Once they landed on the roof of a building, Felix and his parents went to the edge looking down at the mostly empty streets below. Felix looked at his mom as she put her hood over her face saying,

“ Alright, you two ready?” Felix smiled brightly and said,

“ Yeah!” With that, Felix grabbed both of his parent's hands before suddenly, they all jumped off the building, diving right for the sidewalk and street below. Felix could feel the cool and swift wind blow at his face and run through his hair, then he looked over at his mom and saw her give him a wink before she used her free hand to create a small swirling tornado with her wind power and suddenly, they all started flying up into the sky. Felix smiled brightly thinking, this is amazing! They flipped backward and started falling, feet first back to the ground, but just as they were about to land, they stopped and hovered in the air just a few inches off the ground before landing. Felix smiled and said,

“ That was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again!” His mom smiled and ruffled her hand through his hair saying,

“ Don't worry, we will now let's go inside.” They entered the apartment building and started heading up the stairs till they came to the sixth level. Felix went down the deserted hall looking at the numbers next to the doors counting in his head, 473, 474,475,476, 477, 478! Then he stopped at the door of 478 and looked at his parents, 

“ Alright, you want to let them know we are here?" Asked his dad. Felix nodded and quickly knocked on the door before taking a step back just as the door opened and in the doorway was an older woman with long reddish-orange hair wearing a blue shirt and black leggings. The woman smiled a sweet smile saying,

“ Oh, Felix! It's so good to see you again.” 

“ Hi, grandma.” Said Felix who quickly went and hugged her. The woman gave a small laugh before saying,

“ aww, and how are you Sky? You and Peter completing your missions?” Sky replied,

“ Yes mom, we are doing just fine… Oh, by the way? Are Conner and Mazie here yet?" Felix's grandma replied,

“ Uh, your brother is sleeping, and Mazie is inside playing with Sunny and Starr, your father is just getting off work so he'll be home soon, but please come in, all of you.” Felix let his grandmother take his hand and walked with her inside. They went down the short hall till the room opened with a small kitchen and bar to the right and a larger living space out in front. Felix saw two girls his age, one had long dark blackish-brown hair that was in a braid and she wore a bright blue shirt with a white crescent moon and black leggings while the other had long blonde hair that was in a ponytail and wore a light purple shirt with white stars on it and also wore black leggings. At first, both girls were busy watching their mom, Mazie who had on a black and yellow ninja outfit place a chess piece in a different spot on the chessboard. Then the girls looked up and smiled as the blonde-haired girl yelled,

“ Felix!” Both girls stood up and ran to hug Felix who said,

“ It's good to see you again!”

“ It's good to see you too Felix.” Added the black-haired girl. Just then, Felix's aunt, Mazie said,

“ Alright, Sunny, Starr, let's give Felix some room, hey… you want to teach Felix how to play chess, I need to go talk to Sky and Peter alright?” 

“ Alright.” Exclaimed Starr, and Sunny at the same time. Just then, Starr looked at Felix and asked,

“ So, do you know how to play chess?” Felix replied,

“ I mean I know how to play but, I'm not very good at it.” 

“ Neither am I, Starr always beats me but she's only beaten mom a few times.” Said, Sunny. Felix gave a small smile before saying,

“ Thanks, and yeah, I'll play.” With that, Felix and Starr took their seats on either side of the chessboard. Once the pieces were set back in place on the chessboard, Felix and Starr started to play. 

A couple of moments had passed and Felix was staring at the board longer than he ever had as he thought, Hmmm, she has my king in a tight spot, if I move my bishop to take her knight, then her rook could get my bishop, but that might allow me to use my rook to get her king… Uh but she has her queen guarding it, if I take out the queen then the king could get me, and I don't have any pieces that I can use to get her king. Oh, whatever, I'll just do it. With that, Felix took his bishop and moved it diagonally across the board, three tiles taking the castle topped rook.  Once Felix took Starr's rook he looked at Starr and saw her eyes swerving from side to side, looking at the new arrangement of the piece, but still, she smiled and quickly took her queen and slid it diagonally across the board till it was on the far side of the board. Felix's eyes went wide and he thought, What! I thought she was going to take my bishop for sure! Oh well, that allows me to take her king and I- Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted as Starr said,

“ Checkmate.” Felix blinked and studied the board again looking at all of Starr's black pieces thinking, Her queen could go diagonally again and she would get my king, but if I move up one, wait! Her knight could get me. I can't move backward or her other rook will be able to get me, So what if I moved… Yes! It can work! With that, Felix took his king and moved it diagonally to the right. He then looked up at Starr and said,

“ Yeah, I think it's just pronounced check.” Starr smiled and looked up at Felix saying,

“ Nope, it's checkmate.” With that, she moved one of her last remaining pawns that had stood in its starting place throughout the game, up to two spots before going diagonally and knocking Felix's king down. Felix gave a disappointed whine as he said,

“ Aww man, I thought I had you there, but wait, I thought you could only move a pawn one space at a time and only strait forwards." Starr smiled and said,

“ You can choose to move a pawn two spaces forwards or just one space, but only from its exact starting point, once it has moved off its starting point, then it can only move one space. Also, pawns have their own way of attacking, it's also a rule, a pawn must always take any opposing pieces that are diagonal from them no matter if I had already moved it.” Felix whined again saying,

“ Awe man… I totally forgot about that rule." Just then, Felix heard his mom say,

“ Alright Felix, we are leaving.” Felix stood up and started walking over to his parents as he said,

“ Oh, I thought you were going to stay a little bit longer,” Peter replied,

“ Sorry buddy, but the queen's orders can't delay any longer, but we will be back sooner than you think, so have fun with your cousins and grandparents.” Felix nodded and hugged his dad before moving over and hugging his mom as he heard her say,

“ Just be good and don't think about us being gone.” Felix looked up at his mom before saying,

“ Alright, mom.” Just then Mazie called,

“ Conner, we're leaving!” A man wearing an entire black ninja outfit and had black with light highlights in his hair came out of the guest room saying,

“ Alright, I'm up.” With that, Felix's mom and dad along with his aunt, Mazie, and uncle Conner left leaving Felix with his grandmother, and his cousins Sunny and Starr. 

                                                   ******

The rest of the day went pretty well, Felix's grandfather came home from work an hour after his parents left. He noticed that his grandfather looked tired.

“ Oh, he's usually like this on the long night shifts that he has to work.” Replied Felix's grandmother. Finally, just as they were eating lunch Felix's grandfather came out of the bedroom from a nap and said,

“ Well, hello kids! It's good to see you, how have you been?” Sunny smiled brightly and said,

“ I've been amazing! How about you grandpa?” Grandpa replied,

“ Oh, I'm fine, just a little tired but fine… so uh, Autumn, remind me where our kids went?" Felix looked at his grandmother who said,

“ Oh, Sky said something about the queen catching word that the King of the Sky Dragons has come back so Sky and her friends are going to investigate.” Suddenly Felix heard Starr ask,

“ Wait, why do our parents have to investigate? Can't someone else do it, like the royal guards?" Felix quickly said,

“ I'm sure they're gonna be fine, my mom is an Air ninja she can blast that Evil Dragon King right out of the sky!” 

“ Oh, I'm sure your right Felix, but the guards are only meant to keep the queen safe, that's why they are called royal guards, but it's the group of ninja's who keep everyone else safe.” Felix looked at Starr who seemed to look a little worried, but it was more than worried. Still, Felix continued to eat his lunch. 

The kids continued through the day, Starr went with grandma to go grocery shopping and when they came back they had bought pizza for dinner.

After they ate, Felix, Starr, and Sunny started getting ready for bed, it was when they were brushing their teeth in the guest bathroom right across from the guest bedroom that they were going to use that Felix heard the front door open and her grandmother's voice say something in a soft voice. Felix took his red toothbrush out of his mouth as he quietly snuck a peek around the wall and saw a woman wearing a gold crown which was studded with red jewels sitting on her reddish-orange hair while the rest of her outfit was covered by the black cloak she wore on top. Felix heard his grandmother say,

“ Your majesty, what's the trouble?” Felix gave a small gasp as he thought, Wait, that's the queen! He quickly turned back into the bathroom and whispered,

“ Starr, Sunny, it's the queen, she's here!” Their eyes went wide and they joined Felix in peeking around the wall to see the queen as she said,

“ I have bad news… the ninjas… have gone missing. I have yet to even hear their first report, and it's even later than any report I've gotten from Sky. I don't know what to do next, except one thing… The children, they have elemental powers don't they?" 

“ You bet we do your majesty!” Exclaimed Felix coming from around the wall. Both his grandparents and the queen looked while Sunny and Starr tried to get Felix to retreat behind the wall. The queen smiled and said,

“ You must be Felix, future master of the Air element, and who are your friends?” Felix looked behind him and said,

“ These are actually my cousins, Starr and Sunny.” The queen smiled at them too as they emerged from behind the wall and held their hands in hers saying,

“ You two hold the spitting images of your parents, you must be Sunny, future master of the Sun element, and you must be Starr, future master of the Night element.” Both Starr and Sunny nodded just as Felix heard his grandmother say,

“ Please forgive me if I am being rude your majesty but, they are just children, twelve and thirteen-year-olds, and more importantly they are our grandchildren.” By now her voice had started to rise a little, and Felix watched as the queen replied,

“ I understand your concern Autumn, but may I also remind you that they are the children of elemental masters, and of ninja's I believe that they can be our solution to our problem.” Autumn looked to her husband with fear and worry till she finally, gave a long sigh and said,

“ Alright, just please… keep them safe, and train them to become great ninja's."

“ That will not be necessary, our parents taught us everything about being a ninja.” Exclaimed Sunny while Starr said more seriously,

“ We have also been practicing our elemental powers, we will be fine with defending ourselves.” 

“ Yeah!” Exclaimed Felix. The queen gave a confident smile and said,

“ Then I think you will be needing… these.” She gave each of them an outfit and just as soon as Felix looked at the red and black colors his eyes went wide and he looked up at the queen asking,

“ Wait… are these…?” She gave a single nod before both the girls ran off into the guest bedroom to the left and Felix into the bathroom to the right. 

                                                  ******

It didn't take long for them to get dressed into their outfits, and as Felix looked at himself in the mirror he thought, I look so cool in this. With that, he went back into the kitchen and showed it to his grandparents and the queen as well as to look at Sunny and Starr's outfits. Just then the queen said,

“ Now, I want you to come with me so we can recruit the other members of the team, please follow me to the roof, our dragons are waiting for us.” Felix looked at his cousins with wide eyes and Starr said,

“ Wait, Dragons?" Suddenly Sunny started to follow after the queen saying,

“ I'm coming your majesty!” Felix smiled and followed after Sunny with Starr close behind. 

Once they were on the roof Felix saw six dragons all of the different colors. Felix inspected all the other dragons till he saw the red dragon and smiled as he ran towards it saying,

“ Spitfire! Hey girl!” Spitfire gave a small nose nudge to Felix before he heard the Queen say,

“ Spitfire, including the other dragons all, belong to your parents, when the ninjas didn't come back with a report I had the dragons come with me to assemble you, now let us head to the royal palace.” Felix quickly climbed up Spitfire's wing  while Sunny asked,

“ Wait you mean we get to go to the Sky kingdom?!" The queen shook her head with a smile saying,

“ Unfortunately no, we are heading to the palace of Emporer Justin and Empress Endral who is the Nature ninja that went on the mission, we must inform the Emporer about Empress Endral and recruit their daughter, Amber.” Sunny quickly said,

“ Well, it's still a palace so, cool!” With that, she started sliding down the golden scaled dragon's wing again till Starr pushed her back up and easily climbed up onto the black Night dragon that Felix could see had instead of just one tail, it had three dark, almost whip-thin tails. 

“ Alright, we better go, your majesty, lead the way.” Felix watched as the queen started climbing up on Spitfire and he held his hand out to her as she said,

“ Thank you, young man… now, let's fly to the palace of Emporer Justin and Empress Endral, that way.” She added, pointing in the direction with that, Spitfire lifted off with the other dragons close behind.
