Awakening
Introduction
I live to write
I write to live
somewhere
I may find myself...
Awakening
I am half way
between light
and dark
I sleepwalk on the edge
of paving stones
almost falling
almost...the end
but something catches me
grants one more life
In limbo
impatiently
I wait
so far
yet...so close
I am
awakening
Captured
Crying is not worthy
for an expression of where I stand
complaining would alter zero
begging might speak of vulnerability
prayers will misplace my words
I am the earth spinning
a wheel turning
the goldfish swimming
in perfect rotations of the bowl
I am the bird
with flawless wings
confined to walk the dust
I pursue circular paths
arriving at the beginning
failing to find an end
my face falls to pillows
suppressing the scream
And yet
strength is found on rising
encouraged by ethereal light
of perhaps
or maybe
Another hour
another day
facial adornment
applying the glaze
the flawless art of smiling
The world remains blind
I can never unveil
how I am captured
